Democrats and Republicans alike called Trump’s actions a debasing of America and a Republican said: “The president used force against American citizens, not to protect property, but to soothe his own insecurities.” George Will wrote: “Trump must be removed.”
America needed a president who understood the anger that fed unrest around the country, but he turned to tweets to inflame the passions that brought more violence. He encouraged more violence with anger, racism, and division.
While many Republicans aren’t choosing to condemn Trump, most are sitting on their hands and saying nothing. They don’t want to talk about this latest case of verbal diarrhea from their bombastic party leader.
