Sounds like someone wants to be McCain’s running mate.
Gov. Charlie Crist has dropped his long-standing support for the federal government’s ban on offshore oil drilling and endorsed Republican presidential nominee-in-waiting John McCain’s proposal to let states decide.
I wonder how GOP California Governor Arnold S. thinks about this?
I’m sure TX Governor Rick Perry will be supporting this as well. I wouldn’t be surprised if he ended up being the VP either.
However, if the 3 GOP Governors with the most coastline agree about this, it will be hard for the Dems not to allow it ESPECIALLY with gas prices the way they are.
Right now anything and everything that can be done to help the energy situation should be done and politics should be put aside.
I hope the Dems understand this and act accordingly otherwise it may be their achilles heel in November. If the Dems would bend on this as they have bended on so many other things, it would take the focus off oil prices and onto more important isssues. Otherwise it could be their downfall because we need to produce more oil domestically and the fastest way to do so is drill offshore.
