When the network television cameras pass over the many empty seats in the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland during the 2016 Republican National Convention this week, the images highlight the sad emptiness felt by many members of the GOP today.

The cameras also captured former Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli take his convention credentials from around his neck and throw them on the floor after walking out of a convention that he would later say “no longer reports the Republican Party I used to know.”

Many Republicans didn’t even come to Cleveland for the convention that exists solely this year present scandal-scarred real estate investor and former reality TV star Donald James Trump as the Republican nominee for President.

The convention started rocky, with protests and calls for change from those who wanted an alternative to Trump.  They failed, but the way Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus handled the challenge left a sour taste in many mouths and the number of empty seats increased.

Then Slovenian-born Melania Trump took the stage and with a thick Eastern European accent, delivered a speech that included plagiarized parts that the Trump campaign lifted from a speech that Michelle Obama gave to the Democratic National Convention in 2008.

Mrs. Trump first claimed she wrote her speech with only “a little help” but others in the Trump campaign attributed her mistakes to a “team of writers” that they claimed fashioned her remarks.

We also see that Melania claims a degree in design and architecture at “University in Slovenia.”  No University in Slovenia or “University of Slovenia” exists.  She did enter the University of Ljubljana” but left after one year to pursue her modeling career.

CBS News, which orginally broadcast a claim that Melania Trump received a degree, recanted that claim after her speech in Cleveland.

Melania Trump didn’t receive a college degree in design and architecture at the university in Ljubljana, Slovenia, which her biography in the Republican National Convention program claims she had obtained.

CBS News has checked the official public records of the university, and Melania Trump is not listed as having graduated from there with a degree.

Looks like Mrs. Trump has the same lack of attention to facts as her husband.  She has also appeared nude in magazines like GQ in Britain and other publications.

Republicans are banking on Trump emerging from the Convention in Cleveland as a more steadied candidate than the loudmouth who captured the primary votes.  Critics of Trump say it will be impossible.

Trump might recover some is he has a strong acceptance speech on Thursday night but those who are prepping him for the speech are clearly nervous.

They should be nervous and they should be ashamed of having any involvement with Donald Trump…or his wife…or any part of his various film-flam operations.

The emptiness of the Quicken Loans Arena this week may be a prophecy of what is to come of the Republican Party.

  1. “The emptiness of the Quicken Loans Arena this week may be a prophecy of what is to come of the Republican Party.”

I blame the many empty seats to the fact the GOP convention has been nothing but a clown show.

And we all know that many folks are frightened by clowns. It’s called coulrophobia.

Donald Trump is a clown and a loser!
