A CBS NewsNew York Times poll says a scant eight percent of Americans think members of Congress should be re-elected — the lowest re-election percentage in polling history.

And 80 percent of those polled think our elected representatives serve special interests and not those they were elected to represent.

The poll, taken Feb. 5-10, shows 81 percent feel members running for re-election should be tossed out on their butts (11 percent were undecided).

The poll also found 75 percent disapproved of the job performance of Congress.

The poll of 1,084 adults has a margin of error of plus- or-minus 3 percentage points.
