When the temperatures climb into the upper 90s, with humidity to match, it really affects construction workers who toil outside in the opressive heat. Witness this crew working on a street project in the Clarendon area of Arlington County, Virginia. Weather forecasters are promising a break in the stifling heat that has gripped in the East Coast and much of the rest of the country during August. But then, they've promised that before. The National Weather Service says this August will go down as the second hottest on record.
