A Kettle of Keystone Kops Kalling a medical Pot black

Last week, an Illinois jury nullified our state laws against possession of pot by finding an older, maimed good citizen  ( a vet, no less) innocent of pot traffic’ing charges.

Yesterday, three South American ex-presidents "ex-pressed" their disdain for US pot laws, asking for their repeal.

Numerous state and national organizations, from the American Bar Association (No, that is rarely a pub crawling group, unless they are attending a national legal conference someplace) to numerous medical and scientific groups.

Time to rename TARP

It is almost too tempting to pile on Merril Lynch’s CEO,  John Thain, the man who stole billions in tax payer funds in order to secretly pay huge bonuses to staffers,  after his company lost more than fifteen billion dollars. He had to do this secretly, just days in advance of his company’s takeover by Bank of America because. Just because.

So? Where’s the change?

Geez, Louise.

Where do we send our complaints? He’s been president for 23 hours, (and dancing for 6 hours of the time, by my count) and what has he accomplished?

At last.

Between 1 to 2 millions celebrating an end and a beginning.  200 Million hopeful and anxious around the country. 3-5 BILLION waiting with tears and hope around the world. Them’s some powerful numbers.

So much damage done, so much work to do, and so much hope riding on one young man’s coat tails.

One more day. I hope we make it.

Enough has been written about the failures of the last eight years. Even today, media outlets around the world are taking their final shots at George W and the administration’s puppet master, Dick Cheney.

A new president was been elected, possibly for the first time in three presidential elections. We should be excited, energized, and relieved.

Sorry. It is not working.

A good riddance Sermon from the Church of Ineffable Stupidity:

1862 – American Civil War: Abraham Lincoln signs an act that admits West Virginia to the Union, thus dividing Virginia in two.

1983 – The AT&T Bell System is broken up by the United States Government.

COINCIDENCE? I THINK NOT!

“The object of a new year is not that we should have a new year. It is that we should have a new soul”
G. K. Chesterton

“I was dismayed by my voting record. . . ” Caroline Kennedy

“I was dismayed. . . ”

This is standard political code used when your opponent just inserted a lower appendage into his/her oral cavity and began to chew. This might also be the first time that the “dismayed” person is the one whose actions are the source of the dismay.

“. . . about my voting record.”

I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO

THE cloth, a boring, unimaginative, three color oblong, in all likelihood manufactured in China, (since our trade policies have shut down all domestic cloth and sewing production, permanently losing those jobs),

OF THE the increasingly fraying, economically competitive and antagonistic, insular mini-governments making up a third of our continent, founded in greed, built on slavery, deliberately exterminating the indigenous population that had thrived for eons long before us,
