Willie Nelson busted again for pot

A U.S. Border Patrol spokesman says country singer Willie Nelson was charged with marijuana possession after 6 ounces was found aboard his tour bus in Texas. Patrol spokesman Bill Brooks says the bus pulled into the Sierra Blanca, Texas, checkpoint about 9 a.m. Friday. Brooks says an officer smelled pot when a door was opened and a search turned up marijuana. Brooks says the Hudspeth County sheriff was contacted and Nelson was among three people arrested. Sheriff Arvin West didn’t immediately return a phone message left at his home Friday, but he told the El Paso Times that Nelson claimed

Cops claim to foil terrorist attack with a ‘sting’ operation

FBI agents claim they busted a pissed-off Somali-born teenager just as he was readying to blow up an explosive-packed ban that he hoped to use to spread death and destruction at a crowded Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Portland, Oregon over the holiday weekend. What the would-be bomber did not know was that the bomb was an elaborate fake supplied by FBI agents in an elaborate sting operation. Agents arrested Mohamed Osman Mohamud, 19, at 5:40 p.m. local time Friday as he dialed a cell phone he thought would set off the device. Instead of an explosion, agents and police

Rand Paul compared Obama to Hitler

Rand Paul, the GOP Senator-elect from Kentucky, in a 2009 interview, compared President Barack Obama‘s rise to power to Adolph Hitler‘s ascension to control of Nazi Germany. The comparison, not unusual for the shoot-from-the-lip Paul, came during an interview with conspiracy propagandist Alex Jones. According to blogger Tanya Somanader, Paul said: You know, Rahm Emanuel, who’s chief adviser to President Obama, said “let no good crisis go past without allowing government to grow.” And it’s happened before. When you have severe crisis, that’s when sometimes strong leaders arise. You had the money destroyed in Germany in 1923 and out of

American voters don’t want a second term from Obama

Memo to Barack Obama: You might want to start freshening up your resume because because a majority of American voters don’t think you deserve a second term in office. A new poll from Oquinnipiac University shows 49 percent of American voters don’t think Obama should have a second term with 43 percent saying he does. And those questioned put the President in a dead heat with potential GOP challengers Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee. American voters blame Obama for the continually high unemployment rate and the piss-poor condition of the U.S. economy. The Nov. 2 election saw voters throwing out

‘Exhausted’ Obama critic loses her job

At a Town Hall meeting, Velma Hart told President Barack Obama a couple of months ago that defending him and his policy had “exhausted her.” Now she’s not only exhausted. She’s unemployed. Hart told CNBC Monday that AmVets, a veterans services organization in Maryland, gave her a pink slip recently as part of the struggling group’s effort to cut expenses. Hart stood up at a Town Hall meeting in September and told Obama: Quite frankly, I’m exhausted. Exhausted of defending you, defending your administration, defending the man for change I voted for, and deeply disappointed with where we are right

Federal agents drunk while transporting nukes

Here’s a sobering thought. Federal agents hired to transport nuclear weapons on convoys around the United States stopped off for drinks and drove drunk while on the missions. Last year, two got so plastered in a bar en route that police were called in. Sandra D. Bruce, assistant inspector general for The U.S. Department of Energy, told The Associated Press that he office reviewed 16 alcohol-related incidents from 2007 through 2009. The incidents involved agents, candidate-agents and others employed by the Federal Office of Secure Transportation. Some 600 agents work in the program. Reports The Associated Press: Two incidents in

TSA or T&A?

The Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) — which has been a joke since it was formed in the post-11 frenzy — is at it again, implementing new “pat-down” search techniques  that — in effect —  allow the rent-a-cops at airport security checkpoints to cop a feel of airline passengers. Call it another example of government overreaction, an abuse of authority or even a violation of civil rights. It just adds one more reason to avoid flying commercial airlines out of U.S. airports. When added to the full body scanners and other trends it means nothing — and we do mean nothing

Worldview on Obama: He’s a failure

Barack Obama’s plummeting job performance ratings at home are nothing compared to the worldview of the American President — especially in the troubled Mideast where candidate Obama promised a different approach. Both sides of the Mideast debate agree on one thing: Obama the President is a failure and both the Israelis and Palestinians blame him for the current state of affairs in that troubled region. “Instead of becoming a heady triumph of his diplomatic skill and special insight, Obama’s peace process is viewed almost universally in Israel as a mistake-riddled fantasy,” writes Ben Smith on Politico. “Even those who still

Everything you always wanted to know about sex? Been there, done that

Baby boomers say they don’t need to learn anything new about sex. They already know it all. And it’s the women who say they know the most when it comes to getting it on. That’s the conclusion of a new Associated Press-LifeGoesStrong.Com poll on the sexual habits of the baby boom generation. Among those polled, 59 percent of women say they know all they need to know when it comes to bumping bellies while 48 percent of men claim the same level of confidence. Clinton insists she won’t run for President, but…

Hillary Clinton says she isn’t interested in running for President against Barack Obama or anyone else in 2012. “I am not in any way interest in or pursuing anything in elected office,” Clinton said on Fox News Sunday. “I love what I’m doing (as Secretary of State). I can’t tell you what it’s like to represent the United States every day.” But Clinton insiders tell Capitol Hill Blue that her denial is neither final or binding. “She will keep her options open,” says one Clinton confident who asks not to be identified. With dissatisfaction with President Barack Obama growing among
