The headline reads:

Military considering new cremation policies

The article says that the Pentagon, concerned that the crematoria used to cremate remains of military members are also being used to cremate animal remains, is considering changing to a contractor who cremates only human remains, out of respect for the decedent.

“Defense Secretary Robert Gates believed the earlier situation was ‘insensitive and entirely inappropriate for the dignified treatment of our fallen,’ said Pentagon press secretary Geoff Morrell.

“‘Our heroes deserve to be better treated than that,’ Morrell said. . ..”

I certainly agree. We should treat them much better than that. We should bring them home alive. The false piety that drips from the Pentagon over this “issue” is disgusting.
