I guess not as was reported in the following:

Huffington Post reports the following:

“Republican presidential candidate John McCain said President Bush should veto a measure that would bar the CIA from using waterboarding and other harsh interrogation methods on terror suspects.

McCain voted against the bill, which would restrict the CIA to using only the 19 interrogation techniques listed in the Army field manual.

His vote was controversial because the manual prohibits waterboarding _ a simulated drowning technique that McCain also opposes _ yet McCain doesn’t want the CIA bound by the manual and its prohibitions.”

This is the Senator who says he is a Maverick? Give me a break! This is the Senator who is against torture? Give me a bigger break.

If this is how Senator McCain is going to play the game, he won’t win no matter who the Dem nominee is.

Imagine electing someone who is going to fill the Supreme Court with more federalists and neo-cons who will condone torture and other untolerable violations of civil rights.
