"Another stupid GOP comment"? It's not stupid, its militantly ignorant, something Scott Peck defined as "evil". Rape is sexual assault. The definition has not changed. "Incest is rare"? Another militantly ignorant remark. It's just misogyny. If Mr. Koster truly cared for women, and victims of incest, also victims of rape, and if he believed in human dignity, he would say it's their private business, something he and the government have NO part in. But a misogynist would never say that. But a man who does not understand rape and incest are sexual assault and thinks he knows what is best for women would say such an evil thing.

Is he simply incapable of saying "rape"? It seems bizarre that it's always "the rape thing", and not just outright "rape". I wonder what he would think of "the robbery thing", or "the terrorist attack thing".

Three things might be constricting Koster's thinking on this issue:

* He's a teapartier.
* He might be member of a fundamentalist Christian denomination.
* He is NOT a woman.

I like how guys in the vein of Koster have no qualms stating what they think is best for women...Would he feel the same way if someone did the same for him on some issue?

Also, his statements are not the most elegantly phrased, it seems.

Do you laugh or cry when you hear a guy like this bloviate on a crucial, sensitive issue like this?

I used to worry about the Religious Right taking over our Congress. But at this time I see that they are promoting a Monster God. Many use the fear of hell and damnation to frighten their children into doing the right thing. This can come back and slap them in the face. I rescue abused animals but a couple got away from me this week. Someone poured gas on the family basset hound and set him on fire. Another little boy took his puppy and a rope and hung him from the door knob. Both pets were killed. I have been given many black cats on Halloween because they were beaten for being Satan's spawn.

I blame religion a lot for this lack of respect for animals. The old testament claims they were given to humans for food or some such thing.

Now we have half our Congress quoting scriptures and ignoring the U.S. Constitution. Americans are no longer equal in the eyes of the Religious Right and I am over being offended and am now outraged at the audacity of these horrible people.

If we don't demand that our government returns to the separation of church and state, we had damn well get armed against our own Congress before they take the rest of our freedoms away. Going from Bush to Romney could be the end of America that we love.
