Sarah Palin speaks for and is highly respected by the Tea Party base of the GOP. It should be a warning sign that the voters across America are not able to work for or be aware of the truth behind the agenda behind the Republican Party.

America is striving to be an Evangelical Nation. Read the history of the Inquisitions and you will see the new movement across America to protect the white Christian straight men who founded our nation.

Speaker Gingrich references the fact that murder is not mentioned in our Bill of Rights. He speaks constently that Obama protects murder of the unborn including during birth. That is the mindset of the Evangelicals to demand our Bill of Rights continue to tell women what they cannot do. There's also no mention of the horrendous actions when men abuse children. These are actions to be local issues and not a desire for more federal prisons. It is also a desire for the White House to spend their time telling all of us what not to do.

Palin's history is one of personal vindictiveness and hostility. She never forgets what she thinks is a slight and she's determined to "get back" at them. Oh, yes, there are lots of people in Alaska who've talked about her! She, herself, does not terrify me. What terrified me was that the repugs would somehow manage to weasel McCain into the Oval Office and Palin that much closer to real power. She has no history of making considered choices, and no intent of educating herself.

Luckily, she has spent the last four years carefully turning herself into a reality-show laughingstock, and I doubt she could ever get elected to anything at this point. Thank goodness.

I've often wondered how anyone could put up with, much less like Sarah Palin. She's a vindictive bigot behind the facade of the happy homemaker. I can see the end of her career better than she can see Russia from Alaska. GOOD RIDDANCE!

Sarah Palin can be characterized as both incredibly charismatic and equally polarizing with a faithful following willing to walk barefooted through six miles of snow for the chance of getting a glimpse of her and an equal number willing to make the same trek to tell anyone who'll listen that she is the devil incarnate. She is a true political phenomenon, both galvanizing and divisive with the same smile and turn of phrase. The political class and their vast support structure which includes many career Democrats and Republicans and the vast complicit media minions breathed a huge sigh of relief when, after the failed 2008 campaign, she willingly relegated herself to the role of sideline cheerleader for selected candidates around the country and is currently not a threat to shake up their world.

Why are so many from so many different political perspectives petrified deep in their hearts of this woman? I think they all got a glimpse, in the Fall of 2008, of the raw power she exhibited as she went around the country, trying to convince voters that John McCain was the right choice for President. They also realized joyfully that all the charisma in the world could not mask her serious weaknesses. The national political machine from both sides relentlessly hammered her for those shortcomings. Palin realized for herself two important facts. One was that in her present state (no pun intended) she was not adequately prepared to be a serious candidate for national elective office. The other truth was she really enjoyed the adrenalin rush of campaigning, being in front of her adoring fans hanging on her every word, where her every pronouncement was cheered wildly. So she made a shrewd, albeit shortsighted decision to abdicate from her day job which ironically started her on the path to celebrity, in order to free up her time to speak at selected campaign events around the country for candidates she felt like supporting and be an infrequent commentator on cable TV. I don't blame anyone for their choice of how they earn a living. In this country people are free to do whatever they want as long as they also accept the consequences of their actions. In Sarah Palin's case though, it saddens me that she took the easy road, in spite of possessing unique personal traits that allow her to speak and connect with a segment of the population thirsty to hear from a refreshing new personality not beholden to the national political power structure who says exactly what she thinks and has had success in her state as an elected official bringing people together to solve major problems.

If she took the time and steps necessary to adequately prepare herself and to mend fences she might be able to grow to the point where she could significantly contribute to helping this country get back on and continue to move down the right path to a productive future. Unfortunately, she has shown no inclination to move in that direction and it's probably too late now anyway. At some point her celebrity will wane and she'll become irrelevant nationally. Set financially, but without that adrenalin rush she could at one time summon at the times of her choosing, will she be content to fade into anonymity? Who knows, one day in the future she may reemerge as the mayor of Wasilla once again.

Great reporting Chief. Somewhere in the English language, there must be a stronger word for "hypocrisy." Palin is the perfect spokesman for Fox News. Their world of fairy tales cannot be duplicated anywhere in the media.

I regret that the abortion/rape section of the Platform will not be exposed in this particular Convention and I hope, for the sake of all American women, that the Democrats will raise that flag and tell the world what the GOP has been working on since 2000.

Steve Schmidt has joined MSNBC as a political advisor and I hope he will not be shy about all these two-faced problems.
