The "ideas" you claim to espouse are all centered around one personality, one candidate. Each of your "ideas" use that one personality as the source.

Now trying to claim it is all about ideas sounds more like a ruse to me. Offering one liners about being "too far past being OK as a nation" is a good sound bite but how does it further the cause of "freedom" or "liberty?"

That's the ruse used by so-called populist movements. I've seen this all before and it goes nowhere.

All I hear is the endless whine of adherence to lost causes, the meaningless efforts to advance a cause that can't win for an ill-defined purpose flailing in the wind.

After Tuesday night's primaries, the delegate count -- as compiled by the Republican National Committee -- stands at 919 for Romney and 100 for Paul. Romney needs just 112 delegates to wrap up the nomination. No matter what happens in the primaries remaining in May, California's 172 delegates are winner take all on June 5. Romney will take California. It's over.

In Indiana Tuesday night, Santorum and Gingrich -- two candidates no longer in the race -- received 29.7 percent of the vote collectively to Paul 15.8 percent. In North Carolina, they received 18 percent to Paul's 11.1. In West Virginia, Paul finished third. Santorum -- no longer a candidate -- finished second. Romney captured over 60 percent of the vote in all three states.

For months now, the Ron Paul faithful have claimed that in a two-man race their candidate could beat Romney, or at least have a respectable showing. In North Carolina, Paul won just six delegates. Romney captured 36. That's North Carolina. Hardly a Romney stronghold, yet he captured 66 percent of the vote, compared to 11 percent for Paul in what is essentially a two-man race. In West Virginia he received 69.6 percent.

So where are all these freedom-loving voters flocking to serve the cause of liberty as defined by Ron Paul? Where are the clanging cowbells of change?

Yes, Mac, I hear you, but what I hear is not the call of liberty. It's just a diminishing screech of defiance from a sinking ship called the S.S. Lost Cause.

And the more I think about it... Ron Paul is challenging political orthodoxy... that is, the political/economic track America has been on since 1933.

Can a case be made for that track? Is there anyone who would argue that Amrica is better off today because of the Fed, Keynesian economics, and collectivist policies?

Bring it on.

This is actually pretty funny, given all the partisan hyperbole and "considered" commentary.
