Early in Newt’s Contrast with America, I spoke with a friend in Washington, who told me,

“In Washington, you sometimes forget that there must be a group of
supporters of Gingrich out there beyond the beltway.

Because inside the Beltway, he is regarded as lower than pond scum!”

My friend was being premature, or maybe prescient. Now even in the Republican primary, Newt is regarded as pond scum.

I just hope that Romney grasps Newt’s potential and picks him as VP!

Another great article!….Great quote: “…Newt Gingrich is a legend in his own mind…” Reminds me of the Old Testament proverb: “Pride cometh before a fall.”

In regards to this paragraph above: “At the GOP nominating convention in Houston in 1992…” I guess you have to say that Newt’s hindsight was always 20/20.” (Rimshot!)
