“… and the protection of national security.”

Which basically says, “Anything we want it to be, and if you complain about it, we just wave the ‘state secrets’ privilege at the judge and off it goes”.

Must be nice; to be able to go into court, refuse to show your evidence, refuse to show the law itself, insist “we win anyhow” and actually win.

Once again they are using fear to drive an agenda and codify something they are already doing. They have been monitoring Internet traffic including all your emails since 2003.
