Thanks Senegoid for this factoid.

Hmmmm? I tried to dig up any commentary concerning this issue based on an interview with him as to why so, but couldn't find anything. I did find a list Congressional 'traitors' who voted "aye" for the NDAA. Paul generally takes pride in voting "NO" on most legislation, but not this one?

The main reason many of them are cowards concerning taking a stand is because the bill is linked to military funding and these seemingly mindless clowns are still marching lockstep to the idea that U.S. can afford to be the world's defacto 'cop'. We're flat, dead-assed broked as nation, thanks to them, yet they continue to swipe the national credit card as if there's no tomorrow.

Maybe Paul is another 'judas goat' as Obama? We're so bad off as a nation, we'd probably do far better by simply saying...Hey you! to anyone on a streetcorner and say you're now 'preznit' of our "Idiocracy" and would do far better than electing any one of these perrenial losers that run for our highest office.

Here's a link concerning the NDAA vote.

http://interact.stltoday.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=10772387

Allegedly Obama was to veto the bill if the Levin/McCain amendment was part of the legislation, but this link content says he's withdrawn his threat to do so. These traitors to the Constitution and Bill of Rights for which they took an oath to uphold and defend against all enemies both foreign and domestic doesn't mean diddly squat to these low born mattoids.

They're evidently fearful as things get far worse the greater American public just might rush their perimeter and they want to a draconian statue in place to make mass arrests, holding citizens in internment camps until the 13th of forever. Some of these creeps might even have been involved with setting up a "holocaust redux" scenario upon the American people. Seemingly any monstrosity is possible with these obviously out of control, emergent tyrants.

Maybe we all need to take a que from Thomas Jefferson, not only did he have sterling intellect, but has a heavy set of balls too.

Ron Paul abstained from the NDAA vote.

I thought that RP championed sound money and liberty.

It could be argued RP has been consistent re sound money, but it would appear he has not made his mind up about liberty.

I respect your opinions on this issue Bill as to whether Ron Paul is electable or not, but the rubber meets the road at the ballot box regardless of MSM and party apparatchik influence.

Teddy Roosevelt pulled it off in 1912 with his "Bull Moose Party" political putsch and so too Paul can pull it off as long as he doesn't fade in New Hampshire as he did last time. Who knows what 'angry stew' is brewing within the electorate? I know how I feel with this continual gaggle of inept mattoids that are shoved down our throats every four years.

Obama is a brilliant orator and 'snake oil' salesman too. Paul, juxtaposed against the likes of Obama is understatement. It's time America opted for understatement with substance as opposed to overstatement with little substance for which we are currently suffering, along with a commitment for change we truly can believe in via actions that will speak far louder than campaign trail words.

I'm providing a Teddy Roosevelt link. I urge readers to take the time to read the article. Truly an amazing man.

Thanks Carl. It was an amazing experience and an amazing accomplishment for a small company in rinky-dink upstate NY. We are very proud of it.

We were the only company to bid on it. No one else wanted to touch it.

When folks insist that American ingenuity and workmanship is dead, they can look at that as an example of good old-fashioned American risk-taking and perseverance. At times it looked like it would be impossible.

As for the Republic... Working on that too...

“The powers that be.”

IMO, here is the reality of it. The GOP must take into account the fact that the rank-and-file and the party establishment will have the final say. Ron Paul can only succeed by his influence on actual voters who elect actual delegates to the actual convention and the fact is such voters do not favor him. His anti-stance against the GOP’s love of war, the end of the Federal Reserve (to name a few) and not being a GOP team player has doomed him of any chance.

Unfortunately the powers that be will make it difficult, if not impossible.

Well, perhaps we need to now wait and see just what the REAL "powers that be"....the voters...have to say in Iowa and New Hampshire. The last time I ch3ecked, it was the VOTERS who ultimately decide elections, not some amorphous "powers that be".

Indeed, I've already got my Republican absentee ballot in hand from New Hampshire wherein it lists 30 (count 'em...30!) candidates for President. Some are people our friends in the so-called "mainstream media" have never even heard of, let alone covered....peoplelike Kevin Rubash of Wilmette, Illinois, Linden Swift of Plainfield, Indiana or Fred Karger of Laguna Beach, California. Needless to say, I can't wait to cast my ballot for someone OTHER than what the "powers that be" are telling me the way I should vote.

Perhaps it may not come in this election cycle or the next. But my hunch is that the American people are now growing ever more weary of the sad caliber of candidates the "Republicrats" keep forcing down our throats year after year (after year) as the "only" choices we voters have.

Indeed, the people I'm talking to have now very much "had it up to here" with all such nonsense and are seriously looking for something (or someone) different.

After all, wasn't it Einstein who said that, "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results?"
