With so many people out of work and hurting financially, the complaint of the day is for not mentioning God on Thanksgiving?? Most of these politicians would kick God to the curb if it meant one extra vote for themselves. Give me a break!

I am THANKFUL this Thanksgiving for the fact that we have Barack Obama as President of the United States -and- as a viable candidate for re-election (as opposed to the sorry sorry set of "rivals" on the other side). Thank you Mr. President : your heart, your values, and your basic decency are all in the right place. But... your hands are tied. Unfortunately they were tied by us, the electorate.....by not providing you with a Congress that you can work with. Instead, you have a don’t-tax-the-1%-do-nothing Congress that battles you at every turn, while the people suffer. God, they don't EVEN let you pass your own appointments. It's not Tea-publican gridlock, it's Tea-publican sabotage. Heck, it's Tea-publican TREASON. And then they try to pin the blame on Mr. Obama. These people have no shame...or else its been purchased by those who can afford to do so. Thankfully, Occupy Wall Street is part of an emerging grass-roots evolution...a down-to-to-earth change ...a change that will help us to re-elect the President AND to give him a more progressive Congress. Therefore, this Thanksgiving I am thankful and grateful that you are the President Mr. Obama! And I wish you well. You STILL give me hope.

I've complimented you earlier on this post Sanjay.

No problem with you reposting the same, but it would be nice if you would share your intellect and ideas beyond this spot-on indictment list concerning the order of the day.

We need fresh 'thought blood' on CHB. Welcome aboard...! : )

Maybe at a gut level these pols sense the hyprocrisy of invoking God on our traditional Thanksgiving Day. Most of them haven't had a geniuine godly thought in their lives.

Fat cat, fat butt Americans all sit around the dining table thanking their Christian God for their 'fancy feast' little realizing the mayhem their addiction to resources from energy, raw materials and foodstuffs along with their passive acquiescence to their duplicitous leaders' attempt at world empire has wrought upon the planet. Their mantra 'we've got ours...screw everyone else'...no?

Probably one of the finest cartoons ever penned was by Ron Cobb in 1968 during the heighth of the Nam debacle. I think this 'toon' says it all.

When one looks at the image of a bunch of 'home folks' stuffing their faces with plenty as a function of our ill-thought, greed based, national adventurism in many cases against the bones of the dead upon which this nation's foundation lies from native Americans, slaves the disenfranchised et al. throughout our national history, there seems to be very little of that which is godly in this caricature of our annual thanksgiving feast.

Numan a regular poster to ReaderRant posted it on T-Day and it wasn't well received. I thought otherwise.

We need some action from the helm to change the course of the USS America rather than phonies at the top invoking their Christian 'God' for 'feelgood' purposes in order to keep the masses calmed down and happy with their soon to fail status quo paradigm.

It's best Obama et al. pols kept their mouths shut or toned down this not so thankful day 2011 in the history of our nation.

The Constitution, a document Conservatives state they hold dear, is also godless, and on purpose- this is a secular republic designed to avoid the pitfalls seen in governments before the Enlightenment. It is time for all of us to restate the principles of the Enlightenment and get the government back to work.
