Was Rick Perry drunk during New Hampshire speech?

Rick Perry

Sources within the GOP confirm to Capitol Hill Blue that Texas governor Rick Perry was “blasted” when he delivered a rambling, sometimes incoherent speech in Manchester, New Hampshire Friday night.

“He was wasted,” says one GOP political operative present at the event. “I’ve never seen anything like it.”

Manchester Mayor Ted Getsas called the speech “different” but also said he had never seen anything quite like Perry’s performance at the podium.

“It was different. That’s all I have to say about it,” Getsas said.

Perry spokesman Mark Miner wouldn’t say if Perry had anything to drink or if he was under the influence of any substances. Instead, his canned response is that “the governor is passionate about the issues he talks about.”

But some in attendance Friday night said passion is not what they saw on the podium. Perry rambled on and off topic, slurred his words and appeared uncomfortable. Seat glistened from his forehead.

Damn…he sounds like George W. Bush redux when he too would deliver one of his inarticulate, ‘gong show’ caliber deliveries…OUCH! / : |

Scroll to the last 30 seconds when the host tells him he can’t let him leave New Hampshire without giving him a special present. Watch carefully because he leans over to see what it is before the host tells him. That’s when he gets a huge grin on his face. I think he thought he was getting a pint bottle of whiskey because that’s what it looks like.

The grin disappears when he’s told it’s just maple syrup.

But Perry was no doubt blasted on alcohol that was made in America.

I wish Rick was drunk, then at least he would have an excuse for the sorry mess he has produced here in Texas.

It is so obvious that Perry had done some sort of mind-altering potion before his speech, and I am left to wonder if it may have been a combination of a couple casual martinis AND one or two pain pills left from his July back surgery. After a long and tiring week, that Vicodin or Oxycontin looks pretty good.
I sort of feel sorry for the guy, his family, his campaign workers and supporters. Very, very embarrassing event…but totally hilarious to watch.

I’m from Texas and I am totally embarrassed. He needs to get out of this presidential race now before his Governor’s seat in our great state of Texas will jeopardize his next election for. He is a Idiot and I thought George Bush was stupid.

I hate Rick Perry and was eagerly looking forward to the video. I watched the video, and was deeply disappointed: I wasn’t sure that Perry was really drunk.

      Hi Observer…

Drunk or not, it proves that even a ‘village idiot’ can rise to high office in this nation from a mayor, to the governorship and on to the presidency…OUCH!

      This nation is in a heap o’ trouble…no? / : |

We need to forget about these incompedent Reb presidental candidates and consentrate on the congress and senate. We need to clean house literally.
