Obama’s jobs bill headed for Hill

By ERICA WERNER - Associated Press
September 12, 2011

A White House official says President Barack Obama will send Congress his new $447 billion jobs bill Monday and speak in the Rose Garden to call for swift passage.

Obama is also preparing to travel the country to build public support for the package he unveiled last week. He’ll visit Ohio Tuesday and North Carolina Wednesday to ask voters to pressure lawmakers to pass the bill.

The centerpiece of the plan is lower Social Security payroll taxes for individuals and businesses. There’s also new spending to hire teachers and rebuild schools, among other things.

Teachers, police officers, firefighters and others will join the president in the Rose Garden to call for passage, according to the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity ahead of the president’s remarks.

What are the odds of it passing regardless of it being another stillborn scheme to help the economy?

Tragically I’d say pretty good considering this nation has only a single party system in place; I.E., the Duopolist Party; also the smell of those tasty ‘pulled pork sandwiches’ courtesy of the U.S. Treasury is far too tempting indeed to corrupt legislators.

They passed TARP, Stimulus I and ‘Obamacare’ against mass public opposition since our Congress, now simply an old style sovietski politburo, knows what’s best for their comrade tax serfs; so it seems this lame package will pass too regardless of its proven ineffectiveness as a function of the first stimulus bill known as “The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009″, now seemingly a misnomer for sure. / : |
