But I guess they deserve it because they work so damned hard. Yeah, it must be tough lording over we Mundanes (kudos to William Grigg – had to borrow it) whilst collecting the spoils of the faux partisan war. Oh, those poor bedraggled Hill People.

Oh it must be horrific climbing those god-awful marble steps every day, enduring all those meetings with lobbyists that write the bills they never read, collecting bribes and favors and free trips to exotic places.

Oh woe is they, those self-important, power-drunk pseudo-human shape-shifting parasites. No one is happy with all their tireless work on our behalf. We’re sorry, we’ll try to do better next election.

But we won’t.

it’s difficult but,
we will roll up our sleeves and we will begin to identify common ground.

Then we will announce to the American people that there is a 50-50 chance of any compromise other than that it’s 100% sure Congress is going to continue to screw you for their benefit whether Americans like it or not.
