S&P’s top staff and clients tend to have lots of money. Cut more, or oh noes, we might have to tax them!!

I don’t recall any worries over the nation’s credit rating when we:

Cut taxes and caused massive deficits (Ronald Reagan)

Started a war, on credit (George H.W. Bush)
Started a war, on credit (George W. Bush)
Started a war, on credit (George W. Bush)

Bailed out failed banks (Ronald Reagan)
Bailed out failed banks (George W. Bush)
Bailed out failed banks (Barack Obama)

Oh, wait – All those things gave more money to their clients and cronies. No wonder they didn’t mind.
