Thanks Lillibet for your synopsis of Chicago politics.

It causes me to pause and think that Obama is the spawn of such and made it to the Presidency and even Rahm Emanuel has managed to stake his polticial claim there.

Hmmm, I'm pondering the significance concerning Chicago's history of political scum rising ot the top of the barrel along with both present and future ramifications for this nation and Chicago. Seemingly it will be business as usual or worse as now for the nation under Obama with Rahm's performance into the future highly suspect. : - ?

Well, Illinois has now had four governors go to prison. Actually three serving or having served their sentences and one awaiting the final order to go away from society for a very long time. Politics in Chicago ain't beanbag. It also ain't pure as the driven snow.

Will they never learn that it is the "ask" not the completed transaction?

Will politics as usual ever return to something akin to lawful?

Will Chicago ever produce a political leader that will engender the response, "That's just not right!" when language hinting at indictment is spoken in connection with their name? That would be different from the response when the indictments were first unveiled and everyone sort of said, "boy, that took a long time..." Sadly, here in the Windy City, there was no surprise at the outcome, except surprise that he didn't get convicted on more counts the first time around. The do-over helped the prosecutors.

Now, if only this same level of scrutiny were applied across the board for all politicians, rather than Illinois being the only state with the record we have, and we might just return to a functioning Republic.
