"Roughly 100,000 U.S. troops are in the country, three times as many as when Obama took office. Even by drawing down the 30,000 surge forces, there will still be great uncertainty about how long the remaining 70,000 troops would stay there, although the U.S. and its allies have set Dec. 31, 2014, as a target date for ending the combat mission in Afghanistan." ...extract from article

"10.000" say what...?!

In light of the paragraph extract such a withdrawal is nothing but political window dressing. We're flat dead broke as a nation and can't afford to have even a 'pair' of boots on the ground remaining in this sorry butt, wasteland nation.

Afghanistan is nothing but a 'testing ground' for our latest military 'killtoys' and tactics; I.E., uber spendy and failed along along with a convenient offshore place for corruption, graft, CIA/MOSSAD shenanigans and an excuse to continually line the pockets of our criminally diposed patrons in the MIC. Our presence in Pakistan is of the same persuasion along with our continued presence in Iraq.

It grieves me to think of the lives lost, both ours and innocent civilians in these "engineered" theaters of conflct.

Our leadership has become a rogue, intransigent entity that's incrementally sacrificing this nation on the altar of Mars, the god of war. / : |
