It really seems the editorials here are anything conservative is racist. I am pretty sure I remember a day when DT would be against making more and more people dependent n politicians in Wash DC as an answer to economic problems. Now if someone makes that argument they are racist. Sad. Used to be able to come here and read something that would make me think, now it is just what knee jerk liberals are saying. I can read the same opinions in dozens of other sites with better proof reading.

I spent most of the early parts of this year in and out of the hospital with caretakers helping me when I got home. I used an agency that I had used before as they had as list of wonderful keepers for their patients.

This is not a high paying way to make a living and I was interested in how my gals could survive without my help outside the cost of their care. They could not! They all qualified for Medical health help for their children and all accepted food stamps.

These gals took care of me, my clothes, my food and were there when I got out of my wheel chair to use the potty or take a shower. The kept my litter boxes clean and the cats were well cared for.

My keepers came in all colors, all sizes and nationalities. I was not allowed to tip them or offer them anything while they were taking care of me. But I did what I could after I released them from service.

One of the things I do when I move to a new area and need service people, is to ask if their employers cover their health care costs. Those are who I got for future problems. I also make an effort to shop locally when possible. I come from a long line of merchants. I want my buying power to be locally kept.

Here in my part of the Coachella Valley all the stores are headquartered somewhere else and the money made here goes elsewhere. This is my simple economic standard. Race has nothing to do with any of my choices.

But I will never elect any candidate who treats even the worst candidates without respect.

I had to laugh Gardner because evidently you aren’t keeping up with the sorry state of affairs of the U.S. economy. If you ask your question in these times, most likely the white person you asked, just might say…hell, I’m on food stamps, so what of it?! There’s 40 million people on food stamps, a record number. Are there folks that actually sit around all day trying to make these connections? On my baseball All Star ballot I voted for Dustin Pedroia (White) over Robinson Cano (Black) so I guess I’m a racist using the convoluted and tenuous logic connection.

Newt knew damn well what “food stamp” would conjure up in the minds of his (99% white) Tea Party followers. If you ask most white people in this country who’s on welfare and food stamps, they’ll tell you that it’s mostly black and brown folks. That’s what Newt was counting on. Nice of him to leave out the part where the economy tanked under the WHITE President who left a huge mess to clean up.

It’s called a dogwhistle precisely because it’s indirect, it’s a code known by the listeners. It allows the whistler to do that big-eyed “I am SHOCKED that you dare to call me a racist! You’re the REAL racist for calling me on my racism!” And then you get the white-dood apologists who are outraged that racial dogwhistles are being treated as the racist attacks they are. Hey guys – if you don’t like having attacks on Obama attributed to racism, then STOP SAYING RACIST (birther, racism-against-whites-is-worse, Hussein Hussein Hussein have I mentioned his middle name is Hussein and he’s an evil alien?), SHIT.
