Pat Robertson endorses Rudy

By
November 7, 2007

Pat Robertson, a prominent Christian leader and social conservative, endorsed Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani on Wednesday.

“It is my pleasure to announce my support for America’s Mayor, Rudy Giuliani, a proven leader who is not afraid of what lies ahead and who will cast a hopeful vision for all Americans,” Robertson said in a statement issued by the Giuliani campaign.

The former New York mayor backs abortion rights and gay rights, positions that put him in conflict with GOP orthodoxy, and has been trying to persuade cultural conservatives to overlook their differences with him on those issues.

Giuliani is best known to voters for leading New York in the aftermath of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Shortly after 9/11, Robertson released a statement in which he said the attacks occurred because Americans had insulted God and lost the protection of heaven by allowing abortion and “rampant Internet pornography.”

Robertson made no mention of his differences with Giuliani on social issues in Wednesday’s statement.

“Rudy Giuliani took a city that was in decline and considered ungovernable and reduced its violent crime, revitalized its core, dramatically lowered its taxes, cut through a welter of bureaucratic regulations, and did so in the spirit of bipartisanship which is so urgently needed in Washington today,” Robertson said.

Conservatives have split in their support for the leading Republican candidates. Kansas Sen. Sam Brownback planned to endorse John McCain on Wednesday. Mitt Romney recently announced that Paul Weyrich and Bob Jones III were on board with his candidacy.

Robertson, who unsuccessfully ran for president in 1988, founded the Christian Broadcasting Network, the Christian Coalition and Regent University in Virginia Beach.

There is no doubt these two deserve each other.Gods messenger now has the man to open the gates of hell on earth for him, make way for the crusades.CBN and the CC are criminal enterprises based on a heavenly pyramid scheme. For money I will save your soul,”for Rudy”,says Robertson ,”I will sell mine and yours”.Truly, the good die young, and the despots remain to rule the world…

Seems like the “Kiss of Death” to me.

Robertson has very little credibility left except amongst his fellow whacked out Christofascists.

    Pat Robertson a Christian leader? Robertson may say he is Christian and say some christian stuff, But as Jesus says;
*** Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.***
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
By their fruits (works) shall thou know them.
    This is a true saying.
By their fruits will you know whether they are true or false to the teachings of the Messiah.

Of course I guess you have to have discernment to judge the spirit which is in a man, but just by his works should people be able to see the truth. But the saying is true. They have eyes but do not see, and ears but do not hear.

Most Christian leaders of today? Are they true or are they false? In my opinion?
They be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

Hopefully The truth will not be judged by what is perceived from such “prophets”.

But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you,

And many shall follow their (false prophets/teachers/leaders) pernicious (damnable or destructive) ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.

How does Rudy feel about being endorsed by someone who doesn’t believe in evolution? (Same goes for McCain – Brownback doesn’t believe in it either)

No religious organization should be allowed to endorse any candidate or influence any laws. There is a separation of church and state. If they do, they should lose their tax exempt status. Contact your congress to pass a law!!!!

The good news is that this will hurt Rudy, not help him.

Oh, and how do the evangelicals feel about Rudy having an affair and having his wife find out that he’s divorcing her by way of a press conference, and then having his mistress and his wife living in the Mayor’s mansion at the same time? If this was Bill Clinton, they would be burning him at the stake!

    What ignorant hypocrites

Rudy just received the equivalent of a mafia godfather’s kiss of “dxxxh”. Pat Robertson is a christian nutcase par excellence…! Rudy, the “nut” is now linked with Pat, the “nut”…!

I’m sure Rudy the conniver was thinking thanks; but, no thanks when Robertson came forward.

Thanks Pat for sending the self-imagined Rudy the “juggernaut” to the bottom! To me it was like delivering double MK48’s amidships to the Giuliani “juggernaught”… :)) Hasta la vista Rudeeeee!

“They be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.”

That won’t happen with all those trained dogs taking care of them. But they failed to get behind with the coppertone. They’ve had to pull Bush back so many times his butt is sunburned.
