Rep. Danny Davis Backed By Black Leaders In Chicago Mayoral Race

In a political about-face, a coalition of black leaders has rejected its two earlier stated finalists and thrown its support behind U.S. Rep. Danny Davis for mayor.

The coalition — a group of African-American politicians, religious and community leaders — met late into the night Friday before unanimously selecting Davis over former U.S. Sen. Carol Moseley Braun and Board of Review Commissioner Larry Rogers, the announced finalists last month.
