Levi Johnston says he hasn’t decided whether he’ll run for mayor of his Alaska hometown as a Democrat or a Republican. “We’re debating that one. I’m up and down, back and forth here,” Johnston said on HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher” Friday.
Johnston, the father of Sarah Palin’s grandson, plans to run for the office in Wasilla as part of a reality TV show.
He said that he’s been talking to residents about his candidacy and is working on building a platform, although he didn’t offer specifics.
Maher, noting Palin’s recent feuds with such public figures as Maureen Dowd, asked Johnston: “She is a hostile person, is she not?”
“That she is, yeah,” Johnston replied.
Maher also ribbed Johnston for his relationship with Sarah Palin’s daughter Bristol. “Are you using condoms now?” Maher asked? “I’m a big fan of Trojan these days,” Johnston replied.
Johnston says the appearance on Maher’s HBO show would be his last interview for a while.
