Meghan McCain: O’Donnell is a ‘nut job’

Meghan McCain (Reuters)

Senator John McCain’s acerbic daughter, showing some of the ability to wander off the reservation that her father used to display, called Republican Senate nominee Christine O’Donnell what most others will only admit privately.

McConnell, Meghan McCain said, is a “nut job.”

“Christine O’Donnell is making a mockery of running for public office,” McCain said on ABC’s “This Week.

McDonnell, McCain said, “has no real history, no real success in any kind of business. And what that sends to my generation is (the message that) one day, you can just wake up and run for Senate, no matter how lack of experience you have.”
O’Donnell, one of the tea party darlings,  thumbed her nose at the Republican establishment in September when she won the GOP nomination for Senate in Delaware by defeating Mike Castle, a former two-term governor and longtime member of the House.

O’Donnell was endorsed by Sarah Palin, the former Alaska governor who was McCain’s father’s running mate in the 2008 White House race.

Meghan McCain, 26, gained fame for her blog of daily life on her father’s failed presidential campaign.

“It scares me for a lot of reasons, and I just know in my group of friends, it just turns people off, because she’s seen as a nut job,” McCain said of O’Donnell.

Meghan McCain’s opinion means something to who? Are you serious? Why would she be on any “news” program to begin with, and once again, who cares what she thinks?

HMMMM, I thought the whole idea was for us to know that we all can run for office if we want. I hope that message is getting out to her generation.

So, Meghan McCain, daughter of a ruling class RINO who has been Senator for decades, tells us what to think.

You’d have to be a nutjob to listen to Meghan McCain.

“So, Meghan McCain, daughter of a ruling class RINO who has been Senator for decades, tells us what to think.”

Actually, it appears that she’s only telling us what she thinks and what some of her friends think.

Frank, in this case Meghan McCain is a stand-in for the Voice of Reason, just saying what the rest of America is saying. Anybody who can’t see that O’Donnell is a nut job is pretty far out of the mainstream.

Someone needs a serious copy editor, though. There’s no way that Meghan is only 16!

Spot-on Frank! Tragically we live in times where the “chickenheads” within our society would think that Meghan’s comments have gravitas… / : |

O’Donnell’s opinion means something to who? (insert the remainder of Frank’s comments here)

As the daughter of a past presidential candidate who had a rather unique perspective on the inner workings of American politics and the campaign trail, she became a somewhat interesting voice of her generation. That is why, and a considerable number of young (and not so young) voters care or are at least somewhat interested.

Did people in Arizona really vote for McCain to stay in office?

    Really?

    Wow … there aren’t words.

He’s considered a young ‘un out there. :)

Why does the movie “Being There” keep on working into my few remaining brain cells?

    • Bill  October 18, 2010 at 9:17 pm

Because it fits Sarah Pailin so perfectly!

It seems one day you can just wake up and no matter whether you have any real reporting experience, you can get interviewed on ABC and syndicated by Reuters so long as you have a little name recognition and say what they want to print.

I prefer to get all my political insight from Paris Hilton.

O’Donnell is a nut job must have taken all of about one minute to figure out. I thank her for bringing that startling tidbit to my attention.
