Obama launches propaganda program to sell flawed health care ‘reform’

Obama at health care photo op: Trying to sell the unsellable (AFP)

With many Americans both confused and angry over the lack of any real “reform” in President Barack Obama‘s health care reform, the President is taking the blame.

Not for the failing of the health care bill itself but for his failure to sell the program to the American people.

So Obama is launching a new propaganda program to try and sell what many Americans aren’t buying.

Opponents say the President’s new push is too little too late.

“The six-month anniversary of ObamaCare will be a lonely one for President Obama and congressional Democrats,” Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele said in a statement Wednesday. “The president’s plan was unpopular when it was passed in March, and today the wholesale takeover of the American health care system is undeniably radioactive.”

On the surface, Obama appears to agree.

“Sometimes I fault myself for not being able to make the case more clearly to the country,” the President told reporters during a photo op in a Virginia backyard Wednesday afternoon.

The White House rounded up patients from various parts of the country and trotted them out in front of the cameras to claim they have benefited from changes in the health care law while promising new changes taking effect this week will add more benefits.

The changes include bans on lifetime coverage limits, allowing children to say on parents’ health plans until age 26 and stopping denials of coverage for children with pre-existing conditions.

A new Associated Press poll shows few American know what’s actually in the law while most people oppose the changes. The only Democrats running ads about the legislation are the ones who voted “no.”
