Obama: Voters will decide his fate

By The Associated Press

(AP)

President Barack Obama acknowledges that the fall elections could amount to a referendum on his stewardship of the nation’s affairs.

Obama tells NBC in an interview that “nobody in the White House is satisfied” with continuing high unemployment.

But he also says the midterm congressional elections could come down to “a choice between the policies that got us into this mess and my policies that got us out of this mess.”

The president said in the interview he believes voters “are going to say the policies that got us into this mess, we can’t go back to.” He also said Washington “has spent an inordinate amount of time on politics — who’s up and who’s down — and not enough on what we’re doing for the American people.”

IMHO our two party system in this country is nothing more than a sick joke. Less than 2 years ago the voters gave the Dems a majority because they were sick of the Repubs. Now it looks like the majority will go back to the those same Repubs. Are they any different than they were before? Is there platform any different? Then give it a few years it will go back to the same Dems with the same platform.

We NEED more political parties. Imagine if you went into a grocery store and you only had two choices of every item in the store, would you think that was a good thing? Then why the hell do we think a two party system is so great. Personally Im completely sick of it.

Moreover, try to point out how the two parties are really any different other than hot-button issues like abortion and gay marriage, then you see they really aren’t different on issues that actually matter. And that is why it doesn’t matter who is voted into office, we still end up with fascist imperial globalism.

And now with unverified electronic voting machines, barriers to entry for other parties into the election system, and a sycophant mass media apparatus, it is darn near impossible to elect anyone but a Republican or Democrat. This leaves us with what choice?

Thanks NC-Tom for your enthusiasm concerning the need for multiple, viable parties in this country. The two party system has been compromised by the lobbyists therefore the corporations they represent. The largest corporate donors with the most effectiving lobbying force control our Congress.

We get one vote each and only if they don’t get placed via a rigged Diebold voting machine, then we might get a ‘vote’.

Corporations thru their lobbying force get a number of votes equal to the amount of $$ they contribute to “both” these parties. The dollar winner takes all…!

Of course, even with multiple party choices this could happen, but the effect would be more dilute and less assured on the part of corporate controlled Congressional reps as now.

Yes, we need “selection” concerning parties no differently than we need selection in the purchasing of auto’s and other products.

The ‘system’ is designed by Republicans/Democrats so that the average man & woman cannot participate. We are finished in regards to having a chance to run for office. Both parties are against the People.

I can only recommend that everyone just read that new book out where Americans, in a small town do stand up to federal tyranny & ends up starting the 2nd American Revolution.

Hey, the same issues are there….i.e. high taxes, continual foreign wars, no representation & bureaucrats crossing the land to harass the people. I’m just saying that this could be our home town one day. Great read!!
