I live in Nevada, so I will have to live with the consequences of this election. Reid is a mainstream Democrat, not exciting. He’s never been wildly popular, but is a reliable inside-the-beltway dealmaker, a Democratic version of Bob Dole. Now he’s in big trouble because all incumbents are in trouble because of the economy. And Reid didn’t have much of a margin to begin with.

Sharron Angle is a far-right Republican. May not be electable. Just recently, the mayor of Reno endorsed Reid. The mayor is a Republican. Also the mayor of Sparks, a sister city of Reno, who is also a Republican. The Reno area is the Republican part of the state. So their endorsement may mean something. Maybe only 1-2% of he vote, but that may make the difference.

The supposedly favored Republican candidate, Sue Lowden, supported “chickens for checkups”. She’s the one that Sharron Angle beat in the Republican primary.

Reid has raised about a zillion dollars, and Angle can’t help making gaffes. My guess is that Reid may survive.

Moreover, it is unlikely for Nevada to throw out a majority leader to replace him with a freshman. But we can’t underestimate the anger towards incumbency at this point. But really as others have said, it doesn’t matter who wins, we’ll still end up marching towards global governance unable to keep jobs and manufacture here or keep out illegal aliens. We are being sold out to international/corporate interests piecemeal.

Are you kidding? There’s video out there of Ms. Angle attacking Social Security and Medicare. If all the old folks in Nevada decide not to vote, then maybe she could win. But that will never happen: Seniors vote more than any other group. SS is still the “third rail of American politics”. You touch it, and you die!

Newcomers winning will not mean a thing. In a few short months the newly elected will become just as corrupt as those we voted out. Replacing the “boss” on the plantation will not set us “slaves” free, we still are under the “owner” of the plantation.
