Accordingly, the spill became secondary to the search and rescue efforts. Comparing this to Katrina is just plain stupid. We knew days in advance that Katrina was a huge and dangerous srorm. The simple fact is, BP was our only source of information until the magnitude of the spill got away from them. And don’t forget that the policy that allowed this to happen was part of the secret Cheney oil deal.in 2001.
