May I ask an honest question?
First let me start off with a comment about reporters.
They may have the toughest job in the war because they walk into places a soldier wouldn't dream of without firepower and they walk in there UNARMED.

These guys do realize the risks going in, and they accept those risks.
That said, it's tragic when a helicopter gunship cannot distinguish between a camera and a weapon, when they can't tell the difference between a photographer and an insurgent, when they cannot distinguish children in a van.

There isn't much that can be done about the kids, they're tiny and hard to see.
But is there some way that photographers can be given a small transponder to identify themselves to allied soldiers and aircraft?
