It is entirely possible that one can share all or most of their views, and not be racist or bigotted. I know many people like that. To call them racists and compare this movement to the KKK strikes me as nothing other than a political ploy, likely being run by shills (or worse, dimwitted brainwashed partyline followers). The political views of the Tea Party movement are more closely aligned with what the founding fathers wanted than either of the major US political parties. Don't believe me? Read the Federalist Papers.

It's so amazing that you still believe that racial slurs were shouted by Tea Partiers as black congressmen walked by. NO ONE has any evidence on video or no one not even the guard walking with the congressman corroborated this claim. But yet the Dems continue with wild accusations to gain the sympathy of the American people that don't have the time or inclination to fact check. Keep spreading the lies, the truth will come out, and remember that while no one may hold you accountable here, there is One who will judge.

Hey Josh, get a grip. Look at what people are saying regularly over on FOX News; "Democrats are evil"... "I HATE This president and everything he stands for"... For more, just head on over to FOX. And on HuffPo, as here, people are just as angry at the Tea Baggers for their desire to foist their beliefs on everyone else, their intransigent hatred of anyone who disagrees with them, and their complete disregard for facts.

Bush shredded our economy, our long-standing system of checks and balances built up over decades against fraud, and sent our jobs and assets overseas. We're all suffering the results of his policies, and you bet Americans are angry. Political pundits are taking advantage of that anger for their own profit and power, pouring inflammatory misinformation out upon us all to keep us fighting one another instead of picking up shovels and putting this nation back together.

So get over identifying yourself as being a conservative or a liberal, and start remembering you're an American. If you don't like angry hate speech directed against those you agree with, then don't use it against those you disagree with. Just don't use it. You're a Reverend, for crying out loud. What happened to "Turn the other cheek"?

This country needs everyone. Start listening and stop stabbing.

The tea party was built on being a bully. From the beginning it has been one attempt to intimidate after another. The "claim" they represent "the people", but what they represent is the fringe of the republican party, who demands that you do as they say--or else. They are a prime example of George Orwells "think-speak", they are EXACTLY opposite of who they say they are.

What's interesting in all this is the use of the word terrorist for these folks, whoever they are, and the absolute refusal to use same word for those (shhhh don't say it!) Islamic SOBs who bomb our country, attack our embassies and warships, etc. Man-caused-disasters is the new vernacular for that stuff, ya know? Not even ANY attribution whatsoever.

Truth is stranger than fiction.

In 1988 President Ronald Reagan signed the Civil Liberties Act, which blamed racial prejudice, war hysteria, and a "failure of political leadership" for the policies of internment and not the exigencies of war.

There are plenty of radical Democrats and Republicans as well, but we can't condemn a political organization for the acts of a few loose cannons. Or do you want the US Navy to fire on the next Greenpeace ship that tries to intercept other ocean going vessels and label them economic terrorists? They even provide the boats and a written policy to harass vessels but are still considered a political group. I don't want that to happen.
