Explosion Rocks New Orleans

At least one explosion was heard in the southwest of hurricane-stricken New Orleans on Friday morning, apparently involving several railroad cars, CNN reported.

“We’re trying to get a hazmat team out there right now,” a New Orleans police official told the cable network.

He said several railroad cars had blown up and “the main concern right now is what it is.”

CNN reporters said they were awoken by a boom and that thick smoke was coming from the explosion.
