So sorry to rain on your Happy Easter. Maybe, while your kids are sitting around next Easter eating their chocolate bunnys you’ll think of the kids in Afghanistan and other parts of the world who are being blown up by undetonated landmines and cluster bombs.

As though kids know what a cluster bomb is. Most adults I know only have heard the name before. I was horrified when I learned how these clumsy and evil weapons actually work, and the general ignorance of them is the reason it is so hard to get the government to stop using them, even though most civilized countries (of which club we unfortunately do not belong) have banned them long ago.

I say any effort that raises the ADULT awareness, especially on a day which people usually spend selfishly endulging themselves with candy and follow it with a feast, of the devastation they are largely responsible for is a good thing. Easter is a pagan holiday by the way, meant to give thanks to the sun God for the Vernal equinox. Happy holidays.
