The 28th Amendment

By
January 7, 2010

The electorate has awakened.  The following email is making the rounds:

Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution:

“Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to Senators and Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States.”

The really funny thing about this is that it was forwarded to me by my wife, a Blue Blue “I’ll pay whatever I have to in taxes to have the Government just take care of it, whatever it is” progressive.

Yes, my friends, the electorate has awakened.

I thanked her for sending it to me, and added that I would add to the amendment:

“Further, no person in Congress shall earn more in pay and benefits than the median value of pay and benefits earned by those in the district he/she represents.”

My Blue Blue wife said she loved it.

Hear hear for Warren and the Mrs….! I’m for it and have been so for quite some time. Will such an amendment have a snow balls chance in hell of passage…nope?!

In fact two Senators tried to tack on an amendment concerning the healthcare bill in that members would have to use the same health insurance plan they foist off on America, but it didn’t get anywhere. Both of them are Republicans.  Seemingly there aren’t any Democrats that feel fair is fair. / : |

We have cunning, evil sob’s running this nation. They don’t “represent” the electorate, but once entrenched in D.C. look upon us as our betters and we best know so too.

As the unemployment numbers creep up and more people drop off the unemployment rolls, more houses are foreclosed and hunger begins to stalk the land, then maybe, just maybe “We the disenfranchised” will start to become keen for massive strikes, protests and even the thought of an honorable, old time revolution… : |

    Foist, the Constitution

    usurp, the peoples will.

Indignation will die with the next calamity.

    Faith that calamity comes through.

    What’s in it for me?

Many more commandments rule, any ideas…

If you need brake fluid full speed ahead..Those you represent will catch you, maybe.

Where did the idea come from that we hired you from birth?

The only Mayflower is a seed that hasn’t come up yet.

Let’s make our vote personal, and counted…

While this proposal may make one feel good, I’m afraid this amendment is not only unnecessary but redundant. Besides, they could just ignore this one like they do most of the others.

One other thing is that the executive branch is tasked with enforcing the laws that the Congress passes.
