Almandine, I hope you are right! I tend to agree with EmmaG. Although the GOP is in retreat, their discussions are always based on legislation of our moral values. I have a great fear that Americans want (demand) laws to tell them what not to do.

I keep thinking back on Doug's Rant that it would wonderful if we all could head to a mountain top and rethink our values. It is time we, as individuals, took them back and out of the hands of our corrupt government.

I've been out of town for 3 days and was tempted to ignore my computer and live in my own small world. This is an issue along with gay rights that is very important to me and America. We must keep our individual choices!

This amendment sets back reproductive rights by 40 years. It was a back-door move by conservatives to restrict the right of women to determine their own medical care.

Reproductive rights remain unaffected... in fact, it seems somewhat ludicrous to suggest that abortion promotes reproduction.

The question is whether one has to pay to play.

House votes to ban abortion coverage in <a href="http://insurehealthok.com/health-insurance-definition.html" rel="follow">life insurance</a> plan
The vote was all but unanimous. They feel good, but there is no accountability. They have bounced the conflict up to the Senate. This media event is like a ball, the "R" and "D" camps want to look separate and different. The Parties are of the same skin, this was revealed in the last ballot, NY23 was a moment when the balloon exploded. The 'Snowe' vote in the H. of R. provided coverage, I guess this is the new pretty face on the Washington party scene.
