The quality of discourse these last couple of days has really taken a turn toward the offensive. These tea parties were an independent grassroots effort co-opted by the Republicans and their media minions in order to not only demonize the anti-tax movement (something the Republicans used to stand for), but also to connect the libertarians/independents to the Republicans, thereby using the guilt-by-association tactic to denounce and distract from the true meaning of these protests.
