The Guv’nor by John McCain

On the convention eve on a bridge bound for nowhere
I met up with the Guvnor, we were both too wired to speak
So we took turns a starin out her window at the Russkies,
Ambition overtook her and she began to reek.

She said, John, I’ve made a life out of screwin people over,
And knowin all their weakness by the way they held their views,
So if you don’t mind my sayin, I can see you’re just a two-face.
For a taste of your power I’ll get you headlines in the news.

So I handed her some power and she became my veep,
Then she crushed out my opponents and moved me to the right.
Said if you’re gonna play the game, John,
you gotta dirty up your fight.

You gotta know when to mold ’em, know when to scold ’em
Know when to kick some ass and know when to lie.
You never count your votes when you can steal a lot more,
There’ll be time enough for dealin’ when the votin’s nigh.

So when she finished squeaking she turned back toward the right,
Crushed out a liberal and faded off the map.
And somewhere in the darkness the Guvner she got rapture,
But in her final speech I found a lie that’s full of crap.

You gotta know when to mold ’em, know when to scold ’em
Know when to kick some ass and know when to lie.
You never count your votes when you can steal a lot more,
There’ll be time enough for dealin’ when the votin’s nigh.

You gotta know when to mold ’em, know when to scold ’em
Know when to kick some ass and know when to lie.
You never count your votes when you can steal a lot more,
There’ll be time enough for dealin’ when the votin’s nigh.
