...and whispers will doom Obama unless his camp faces squarely the charge on internet videos (2; the second, a press conference in the Nat'l Press Club, an impressive performance) that he had sex with a man whom he also shared drugs with, well beyond his high school days (in 1999, I believe is the charge; when he was still in the Illinois legislature). Especially with the Rovian influence in the McCain camp, this elephant in the room will be played cleverly, and to the Repub's best advantage; most probably after the Democratic convention, when the Demos will then be saddled with a fatally crippled candidate, if the charge is true, and in any event the whispers will drip, drip, drip all the way to November.
Not that Hillary doesn't have skeletons in her own closet. But a lot of that can be written off as yesterday's news. In any event: this election is looking to get down and dirty, and the more Obama faces the public, and dispels concerns, the better. Look at his handling of the fiery preacher issue; it gave him a great opportunity for a very fine speech. But speeches alone aren't going to win this one for him. He needs to instill a sense of trust in him. Ask Edwards which approach to personal peccadillos is better.
