Web Capitol Hill Blue

July 21, 2008 - 3:05pm.

I've enjoyed my short time here on Capitol Hill Blue. I like writing my small blog, tried to join the staff as proof-reader or editor. It seems it's time for me to move on to other things. My comments and thoughts are no longer appropriate.

I finally got myself banned from CHB comments. My message of truth, justice, and freedom can't overcome the censor buttons or my own anger issues. I do get upset, I'm only human.

My final offending statement in response to Doug's Change starts here rant:

The vote is rigged. Both parties want the same things.

Big government
Big business
Global hegemony

Being civil for over 30 years got us this mess. Why continue that failed policy?

This doesn't mean don't do unto others. Just don't expect me to talk nice about Dick "Go F*ck Yourself" Cheney or any of the others that have proven their disdain for ordinary Americans.

Now I can't comment on stories. I guess I was warned, even though we were assured truth wouldn't be oppressed. How dare I take on the opposing view. I should have known better. People still believe in voting even though they lie about everything else. Diebold is such a trustworthy company. How could we ever question their results!

Never mind we might still see Blackwell and Rove in prison for manipulating the election in Ohio. It can't happen here? It has happened here.

I waited for 5 long hours to vote in Ohio. Me. Not some non-person in some newspaper way off in never-never land. I witnessed the fraud before my very eyes.

What does voter fraud mean to the Bush Administration and it's policies? We can't even guess since the story or post will be deleted. We have to keep believing the big lie of voting or else everything will unravel.

Voting gets us no where today. It is a lie. It is a scam. Believing in it will bring about our demise. We might as well put our faith in the tooth fairy to save our Republic. That's how much voting will help us.

I'm very worried about Doug. He leaves after getting on a new rag. His employer didn't like having his name in their publication as well as CHB where he is known for speaking truth to power in a less than flattering way. Can't say that I blame him as we all have to eat. Some would call this selling out.

Next thing we know, Doug is back and practically advocating open warfare with D.C. Two more pieces follow, both spot on concerning Obama and Jesse Jackson.

Then Tony Snow dies, and two rants are shot off directed against the people that have been supporting Doug. He nearly kills all comments over it. Tony's death and the resulting rants over his part in destroying our nation hit too close to home.

It is hard to admit your friend is an open supporter of fascism, or is too blinded by their own partisan views to see they are supporting fascist dictatorship.

I'm not saying this isn't Doug's right, as it is his website, and he may ban whoever he sees fit. But it's an about-face from his previous 14 years of CHB history to admonish the little guys and start giving those in power a free ride like Deroy Murdock and Clifford May.

Did "they" get to Doug? Has Doug pumped us up to abandon us? Is Doug working with Homeland Security to identify and neutralize dissent or what they call home grown terrorism? Act like violent dissent is the answer, see who advocates openly attacking the government, and then track those IP addresses to their owners?

The Blue Ridge Muse is becoming a mute when it comes to speaking truth to power.

This will be my last blog, as with the new direction of CHB I doubt I will be spending much time here. I'm not in the habit of cozying up with fascists so we all feel good about the state of country. CHB's internet flower power has no appeal other than to distract from what is really going on. So long as you think your vote counts, you will always be a slave to American Empire.

We should not feel good about what we have lost. We should be mad as hell. That used to be the message of Capitol Hill Blue. The take-no-prisoners political news site has become a feel good self esteem building waste of time and electricity. So much for helping enact real change.

For real patriots willing to speak truth to power, see Michael Rivero's What Really Happened. He isn't always right either, but many of his links and comments are spot on. And he has never stopped writing what he thinks because someone else told him it wasn't appropriate.

I hope everyone enjoys their new fascist dictatorship. I'm glad coming together under fascism is more important than fighting it. Have a great empire. See some of you in the camps.

UPDATED: It says "Service unavailable" if I try to comment back to anyone. So please do not expect an answer if you pose any questions. Yes I remember the NSL! I've been reading Blue for years, only just started posting a month ago when I decided enough was enough.

UPDATE2: Thank you Mr. Thompson for taking the time to set things and me, straight.

Woody, I don't know if you were here some time back when Doug, illegally according to the applicable law, spilled the beans about receiving a National Security Letter, you know, those unconstitutional FBI-self-written warrants used for intimidation of citizens. At the risk of being banned myself, I have to give some serious consideration
to your remarks above.

As far as voting goes, I agree with you. The only way to reclaim a legitimate and useful vote is for as many people as possible to get involved at the grass roots level. And how many people have time to do that now, working two or three jobs in order to provide meager support for their families? Ain't ever gonna happen.

As for "polite" political discourse, or no hold barred debate, take a look at the British Parliament some time, especially when the Prime Minister is there for questions and answers. THAT is how political discourse should take shape.

Hate to see you go, Woody.

I'm beginning to scratch it

I'm beginning to scratch it too.

It is nearly impossible to discuss something as dirty as politics and not have an episode of verbal angst now and then. With all the criminal antics we have witnessed from 2000 to date it's a miracle the rubber room isn't overflowing.

What good is a dog if people, and even friends aren't sure he might bite?

Parliamentary style would indeed suit us well because people like the neocons would have nowhere or place to hide.

I will miss your commentary Woody.

P.S. Ari kiss my ass.

Campaign for Liberty. Can't

Campaign for Liberty.

Can't blame ya woody. Time to forget politics and work on surviving while we still have access to food. Senseless waste of time at this point. Too many believers in this charade and not enough time to avert disaster. Ah, how the summer flies by. Enjoy the rest of it.

No camp for me. Good luck.

Oh, for Christ's sakes

Oh, for Christ's sakes Woody. Your comment got caught by our automated spam filter and I did not see it until this morning because I spent 19 hours in an emergency room with my 84-year-old mother before they finally admitted her to the hospital at 6 a.m. this morning.

The spam filter kicked in because of your oh-so-cute attempt to use an obscenity and it did what it's supposed to do -- it placed a hold on the post and your ability to comment until I could review it. You're not the first one this has happened too and I doubt you will be the last.

Nobody "gets" to me. I have no "employer" to remove my name from this web site. I own this place just like I own everything that I'm involved in. I don't work for anyone.

I cleared your post but after reading what was posted here I have to wonder if I should even make the effort if all you're going to do is jump to wild-eyed conclusions simply because you couldn't post for a few hours.

Now I'm going to get some rest and take care of a loved one. That's far more important than reading the outrageous assumptions posted here.

First, I am sorry about your

First, I am sorry about your mother. I hope all is well.

Second, I'm a bit paranoid to begin with and you are really freaking me out going and getting older and all touchy feely as of late. And I had a few other posts lost with one person calling me anti-semitic in a not so nice way. I thought perhaps the newer snuggly you was fed up with me. We seem to keep crossing paths lately.

Maybe you could let me work on that filter so people will know the block is temporary and why it happened. All you get is "Service unavailable" if you try to post. Could even just make that status page use a better description and some customized tags for userid, etc. to personalize it.

Yay I'm happy I can post. But I think I'm still going to take a break for awhile.

Woody. There is nobody here

Woody. There is nobody here at CHB who has tangled with Doug more than I have. My words get clicked off so often I simply shoot an email off to him and wait to see if I have been banned again. Doug and I have fought for all those 14 years and not once did I doubt his love of America. There are few "givens" in America at this time but I would never ever doubt Doug's love for America and this forum.

I share his emotions and frustrations about what is happening to this glorious nation and I spend hours each day trying to find the key word to our breakdown of freedoms. The breakdown is so enormous that it was easier to take us down by one man and his desire for an American Empire that I blamed it on his being a born-again Christian. That was a fraud but it brought in a movement so dangerous to our individual rights that I still stand on its destruction of American values.

We forget that Doug has another life. He is responsible for his family as we all are. You know Woody, we often don't appreciate what we have here until we have to put up with another leader. When Doug was out recovering from a brain tumor, this forum went straight into the hands of the religious right. It was the third forum to suffer from this assault and I was banned and rightly so. It took years before I began to read the home page again and I saw Doug was back in charge and CHB was back in business.

He has given us a stage to expand our opinions on what changes we want made. I realize there may be more socialists than before but when the choice was a religious Republican Party, even communism was looking better than that.

We don't have to agree with each other but we must try to honestly debate our points of view. I am way out numbered in my desire for a limited government and a free enterprise economy and when I face an election where this is overlooked, I become a raging bitch. I've seen free enterprise work and I've made money investing in it. I stayed within the limits of good business and was horrified to learn Enron destroyed the energy departments in California.

We need to share our experiences here and we need to do it immediately before we elect another two-faced neoconservative in our white house. CHB is the place for us to work as a team.

Come back Woody. We need your input as much as mine here. If I can bounce back, so can you. I'm just sorry we all live so far apart that making eye contact is impossible. Some day we might have another meet up that includes Doug and Amy. The last one in Ohio I understand was a great hit. Humans need eye contact and hand holding.

My greatest adversary is usually found after one of my posts and today he may be in danger of "Dollie" and yes, I'm worried about the safety of his family. I am one of those Atheist's who bonds even with the enemy.

Thank you Sandy. I was not

Thank you Sandy. I was not questioning Doug per se, but we do not know that it is actually Doug posting at all times. I thought he left for good, then he jumps back in like nothing happened and he was not writing like he used to do. It seemed like another person entirely.

In retrospect, if he is dealing with family issues, he might write differently. I was only aware of the loss of his friend. I did not know his mother was sick. I can understand how the prospect of losing one's parent can have a major impact.

If it seemed I was being accusatory then I certainly retract such statements.

I can't seem to stay away anyhow. CHB has become my crack addiction. Please Mr. Thompson I need another hit!

Might not be Doug actually

I wonder sometimes where I

I wonder sometimes where I get my anger. I was an optimist at one point in my life. There just has not been much to be optimistic about in politics. That and griping online about politics is a much better way to reduce that anger than getting physical in real life.

I also enjoy a good debate, and will at times take the other side just to promote more dialog. My wife hates it when I do that. So I also come off as a bi-polar personality at times. Have not had to do that lately as there has been no shortage of voices online.

It would be a trivial matter for the CIA, NSA, FBI, or any other agency that is monitoring our internet activity to sniff or crack Doug's password and then post as him. It would be trivial for some of us to do it as well, particularly since the login code is sent via plain-text and unencrypted.

If we consider that police are increasing spying on peaceful groups and entering them into terrorist and drug dealer tracking databases, and being the instigators of and for violence over peaceful protest, our fears are not unfounded.

I appreciate the kind words

I appreciate the kind words and thoughts for my mother. We almost lost her on Monday. She's doing much better now.

Woody and Kent wonder if I am really me...or perhaps the questions is: Is me really I?

Hmmm.  Others have wondered the same thing. Perhaps I never was me. Perhaps me never existed. Maybe Doug Thompson was just a name that some folks invented back in October 1994 and many have claimed to be me over the years.

Maybe the Matrix is real and we're all just living out an illusion created by a computer program while machines drain our bodies of resources.

But if I'm not me and me is not I then who am I? Who are we? What is this place?

There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area we call the Twilight Zone.

Ah, that explains everything.

Rod Serling was my neighbor

Rod Serling was my neighbor summers on Seneca Lake in upstate NY when I was a kid. I think this may have a lot to do with me not knowing whether it is I ... or something ...

Glad your mom got past the crisis.

Seneca Lake, wine country.

Seneca Lake, wine country. Beautiful. Not far from my home, in the foothills of the Adirondacks.

Many are not aware of this, but the first representative government in North America was not the United States of America but the Iroquois Confederacy, complete with a constitution that predated Columbus by a few hundred years. In some ways it was more advanced than our own, considering women played a significant role. Savages!

Best wishes to your family, Doug, if that's really you.
