Obama doesn't want any more gossip debates. Good, but the League of Woman Voters once sponsored thoughtful debates. Instead of turning down a usually biased debate format, I suggest Obama suggest a debate sponsored by the Vote Smart, or the League of Women Voters. The League used to sponsor substantive debates, but politicians didn't like minor candidates like Gravel participating. But there are no minor candidates still running. And this would be real democracy in action. Also, Peace Action never chose between Hillary and Obama so they could sponsor a second debate, and leave a chair for McCain if he wants to participate or send a surrogate. Who knows Obama or Hillary personally to suggest this to the? www.capitolhillblue.com/cont/blog/2419
