Guys, I don't know about you, but, I see a lot of uncertainty, borderline fear, in this man's eyes when he speaks on the troop surge. Does he really believe what we're doing in Iraq is good, or even legal? He gets a steady paycheck every month and probably isn't even aware of the recession here at home in the U.S. because of the cost of this illegal occupation! The rapid roll-over in commanders has me wondering what will happen when this commander has a sudden attack of conscience and decides to tell it like it is instead of all this white-washing, and ultimately, gets fired. Any high-ranking military officer is supposed to give the orders based on their experience and knowledge, not because they were given "guidance" from a gaggle of nitwits who don't know, or care, about the risks involved. The U.S. military has been wussed down to a bunch of drones by the neocons in office and too bad not enough of them have the intestinal fortitude to speak out against this misuse of military might, and taxpayer dollars, for fear of punishment. This is a sad, sad state of affairs when we're forced to watch our country crumble under the dead weight of BushCo!

Jennifer D. It's
Submitted by Dr.D on April 8, 2008 - 6:04pm.Jennifer D. It's understandable why the general would have the 'deer in the headlights' look today. After all,I'm sure that he realizes that his primary responsibility is to obey the precepts of the U.S.Constitution and the Uniform code of military justice, and I'm sure that he understands the consequences of his traitorous testimony if war crimes trials are ever held.Yes,I think that he knows what will happen if the Bush cabals'flimsy facade of legitimacy ever collapses. However, once upon a time, the U.S. military was an autonomous entity; we did our jobs without the interference from Capitol Hill like we have now. We were trained to do our jobs and do them well; we were not told HOW to do our jobs because most electeds back then were smart enough not to get involved. Now all the U.S. military is being used for is to secure another country's natural resources and not defend this country anymore.
The U.S. military was sent, improperly prepared, into another land initially because it allegedly had WMD's and now that mission has become so uncertain and the battle lines so blurred, all I can think is "This was a waste of time and taxpayer dollars, bring our guys and gals home already!"
One cannot force democracy on a culture that treats women like second-class citizens. Yet, the POTUS rubs elbows with this culture like they're his kinfolk.
