Hillary Clinton is a fraud, a liar, a cheat and a disgrace to the Senate, her party and the United States of America. There's no other way to put it. The woman who would be President inflated her resume, lied outright about being "under fire" in an attempt to bolster her national security credentials, plotted to overturn the will of pledged delegates at the Democratic National Convention in August and lobbied to change the rules after she signed a pledge to honor her party's decision on voting in Michigan and Florida. She does not deserve to be President of the United States. She does not deserve to be a United States Senator. She deserves a unmarked grave in the dustbin of political history. If any other candidate had pulled the disgraceful stunts that Clinton and her campaign have engineered in her faltering, debt-ridden run for President, they would be driven from their party of disgrace. But this is Hillary, wife of Bill -- the President of a thousand affairs and countless other political skeletons. Some claim she and her philandering, shoot-from-the-lip husband are Democratic royalty. If she is the best the Democrats have to offer the party of the jackass deserves to get its butt kicked in November. On Tuesday, Howard Wolfson, one of Clinton's chief gutter politics political operatives, revealed the campaign plans to do everything it can to destroy frontrunner Barack Obama in the eyes of superdelegates to the Democratic National Covention. They plan to use the words of Jeremiah Wright, Obama's fiery former minister, to discredit the Illinois Senator and try and convince the superdelegates to overturn the will of those who voted in the party's primaries. Hillary admits she will push for a credentials fight to try and seat the delegations from Florida and Michigan even though she signed a pledge along with other candidates to follow the decision of the Democratic National Committee to not recognize voting results from either state because they pushed their primary dates up against the will of the party. Pledges mean nothing to Hillary Clinton. Neither does honesty. Her bald-faced lie about being "under fire" in Bosnia shows that she has little regard for the truth or honesty and her ludicrous attempt to explain she "misspoke" not once but three times or that she was "sleep-deprived" show just how pathetic her claims to greatness have become. Also ironic is her campaign's coining of the "Tanya Harding Strategy" to describe their plans to "kneecap" Barack Obama and destroy his credibility before the convention. Harding, a third-tier Olympic skating hopeful, hatched a plan to injure rival Nancy Kerrigan by busting her knee with a baseball bat so she couldn't compete on the ice. Harding was, and probably still is, a cold, calculating, scheming blond bitch. Is that really the comparison the Clinton campaign wants? For the past seven years I have taken George W. Bush to task for being a liar, a cheat and a fraud. If Barack Obama had pulled the same stunts I would be calling him the same. I have reservations about Obama's qualifications and his ties to shady political dealmakers and the angry words of Rev. Wright. He has also played fast and loose with his resume. But Clinton's crimes go far beyond the normal hyperbole of politics. Her methods demand denunciation and her schemes cry out for exposure and ridicule. She is a liar and a fraud and we've already had too many of them in the White House.

Submitted by Stratocaster on April 2, 2008 - 7:57am.Politicians are scum and the best scum rises to the top. The question in my mind is how do you enlighten a bunch of uniformed, clueless, lazy voters when the mainstream media is owned by the scum they vote for. Unfortunately, everyone does not log onto The Capitol Hill Blue. They might like to know that the scum they elect refer to them as sheep, but as long as their bellies are full, I doubt if they would care. Maybe when all of the truckers go out of business because of high fuel prices and all of the grocery shelves are empty, they will get off their fat butts to go look for a taco.

Why is no one exposing Hillary's membership in THE FELLOWSHIP? Wayne Madsen's expose is at the link above. He calls it the Christian Mafia.
Hillary is a member of this organization but she's going to keep attacking Obama about Rev. Wright? She better be careful. People in glass houses . . . and stuff.
The sad thing about America
Submitted by barak on April 2, 2008 - 9:24am.The sad thing about America seems to be that we cannot put forth a slate of decent human beings to compete for the highest executive office in our government.
We would rather choose someone who looks nicer, has gender bias, is supposedly uniting because he is half negro and half caucasian, or some mix of races that nobody really understands. We choose a man because he was stupid enough to get shot down in a different "wrong-war" (and NO! I am not saying that everyone who was shot down in Vietnam was stupid!) and then made the noble and stupid gesture of refusing repatriation. These are not valid reasons to nominate a person to the position of garbageman, no less the Presidency.
Doug began this column this year with the promise of a more gentle and understanding column, and less mudslinging and nastiness. This story about Senator Clinton is disturbing to say the least, and not at all in the spirit which was promised earlier. If Doug's allegations are true, then we should consider dropping her as a candidate. But to bring up President Clinton's past behavior does unwarranted disservice to Candidate Senator Clinton. It has no relevance to the campaign, to Senator Clinton's credibility, or to her qualifications to be President of The United States of America. If anything she should be admired for standing by her man--but that too is a private matter and not for public venues or discussions.
We need to examine the candidates carefully, to learn their strengths and their weaknesses. We need to debate, discuss, defend, attack, deride, praise, extoll and learn about these men and women. Discussing the failings of their spouses is irrelevant. Saying that the candidate is so naive as to believe the rantings of his minister does great disservice to the candidate and gives credibility to the stupidity that the minister is preaching. It is a waste of our time and worth little.
But more important than these three people who run for the Presidency is the issue of how and why we choose a candidate. The person makes an announcement and then is a candidate. That is simplification, but leads one to believe that only those who announce their candidacy are qualified. To that I say: "Ask any ten men or women you find on the street in any city if they would like to be the next President of the United States. If they don't call the men in white coats to take you in for observation, then they may accept your offer. I would guess that 6 of the 10 would say "Yes!"
My point is that we need to democratize the electoral process. We need to go back and elect a farmer like Washington, not an elitist farmer like Carter. We need to find people who will represent US, and govern with honesty and a total dedication to making our country as great as itwas before--in the days of Roosevelt and Truman. These people are out there--just ask the next 10 people you meet in the street.
Or look in the mirror.
What a disgusting column --
Submitted by edra on April 2, 2008 - 9:30am.What a disgusting column -- it really shows your radical misogynistic tendencies as related to Hillary Clinton. Your article is filled with lies, distortions and hate. It is bad enough that the main stream media has such a clear preference for Obama; it is unfortunate that alternative media such as CHB cannot present a more balanced view.
CHB is not the New York
Submitted by Flapsaddle on April 2, 2008 - 10:20am.CHB is not the New York Times; this is a blog, not a newspaper. The owner is as entitled to express an opinion as is anyone else. At least Mr. Thompson has the balls to put his name to his opinion and not hide behind the anonymity of the editorial page, as so often do the scribblers at the allgedly "fair and balanced" outlets. I often disagree with what the owner says, in fact I believe that on several occasions he has been as full of crap as the proverbial Thanksgiving turkey; however, I have never had a reason to doubt his honesty.
Misogynistic? Based on what, that he has failed to bow down and worship the Smartest Woman Ever to Inhabit the White House? What are the "lies" he has uttered, the distortions? What about Clinton's lies and distortions and the arrogant, condescending attempt to dismiss them as mere peccadilloes?
This is an open forum, a reasonably free forum, and it's about all sorts of opinions - some of which are truly profound and some of which are profoundly stupid. They are honest expressions, raw and untempered, of how people feel and/or think, and there are far too few such venues available in this ever-more-regulated world. If you do not like what is being said about your candidate then either rebut the claim or shut the phuque up. If you want "fairness" and "balance", then do your research and post the rebuttal or the alternative information instead of whining about how your pet rock is being treated.
Most sincerely,

Edra - what world do you
Submitted by JerZGirl on April 2, 2008 - 10:19am.Edra - what world do you live in? Every single event mentioned in this article is fact. She lied about Bosnia (one time might be a mistake - but three times is a plan!), she has admitted to planning to go against her pledge against Florida and Michigan, and, though not mentioned, she doesn't pay her campaign bills. For the most part, CHB is the most balanced portrayer of political news I've found. They favor no one! It doesn't matter the party, if they've done something stupid or illegal, it's announced to the world! How often is FOX going to own up to Republican foibles??? I think you need to read the news a bit more and compare it to this. I don't think you'll find any discrepancies. As for adjectives used, those are opinions and don't have to be accepted if you don't want to. But, the facts presented are verifiable. Try proving they're not.

Submitted by Flapsaddle on April 2, 2008 - 11:16am.Actually, it has little to do with the statements made in Mr. Thompson's broadside. It seems to focus more on lowering the level of expectations for the adverse when the Clinton tax return for 2007 is made public. It reviews the old-hat status of many claims about the Clintons and their finances and other actions. And it, too - like the candidate herself - brushes aside the "under-fire" claim.

Submitted by Sandra Price on April 2, 2008 - 11:02am.I guess the problem is that I don't care who had a blow job in the oval office. I do care that both the Clintons lied about their deeds done before and during their White House stay. Bill was impeached for lying and both of them were constantly being investigated for illegal actions. They were involved and part of a ponzi scheme to cheat investors out of their money. It was called the White Water action and they have never been cleared. Instead Hillary hid her files of her years at the Rose Group. The problem isn't that they are liars but the voters no longer care.
In my evaluation, there is not a person running who can be absolutely trusted with the White House. McCain is switching again his statements about abortions and gay marriages. Naturally I would never vote for anyone who tried to legislate our morals but again McCain makes statements only to get elected.
Obama is left with the cleanest record; not a perfect record, but the cleanest. To me any member of our species who has to check in with any Minister before he can win an election shows a decided weakness of character. All the candidates are showing a lack of character. Until someone shows up who has a strong spine and doesn't have to show allegiance to some superstition religion teacher and who has honor and integrity, I will probably not vote at all. Putting a political party ahead of integrity is amoral to the core.

Submitted by Pablo on April 2, 2008 - 11:23pm.I say we need a good old-fashioned atheist for a president! Most of the god-worshiping "christians" have totally let us down! Too bad there is this inaccurate american perception that a non-christian could not be a good, nor ethical leader. What a crock of crap! Candidates and politicians must at least put on an act of being "christian", or they have no chance. That is the american mentality, very very unfortunately.

Submitted by Wayne K Dolik on April 2, 2008 - 12:48pm.I admit sometimes I listen to right wing radio. I was listening this am and oh, they were complaining that the “Press” wasn’t fair to Hillary Clinton. Oh, poor right wing radio!
Wouldn’t you like to have Hillary to run against? Why Hillary could save the Republican Party the Presidency! Makes no difference which righty you listen to, they’re all pushing Hillary.
I consider Hillary the "bag lady" for the Clinton regime. Why do Bill and Hillary want so desperately to be back in the Whitehouse for a 3rd term? Do they have something to hide? The other problem with Bill Clinton is his relationship with "Pappy" Bush. What did Clinton sign off on that requires that they secure the Whitehouse for a third term? Any suggestions?

Submitted by Pablo on April 2, 2008 - 11:42pm.Hopefully Mr. Nemo is reading and will answer your question Wayne; I believe he's pretty up on the Clinton-Bush pacts. Something is not right there..Remember how Clinton started hanging out with daddy Bush very publicly after junior, with hillary's help, took us off to a war based on lies? What kind of message was he trying to send to the public? Something definitely isn't right between the clintons and bush's.
And I'd even go so far as to conjecture that the clinton's, due to what appears to be a cozy relationship with the bush's, know the real story behind 911, which is just one more reason to fight hillary with all our worth. I am not saying that she arranged anything like cheney, rumsfeld, wolfowitz, perl or perhaps Guliani (Junior just went along, not smart enough to be involved in creative planning), but she has kept quiet instead of blowing the whistle. That makes her guilty by association and coverup in my book. Hillary knows that buildings falling due to the 'pancake theory' do not fall at free-fall speed as did the twin towers, however imploded buildings do!

Haven't we learned the lesson from the Bush/Cheney Junta that a person's attributes do make a difference?
Or do we want another "Compassionate Conservative" in the WH?
If Hillary manages to steal her way into the WH, one of her first acts will be to go on the air and address the nation, tearfully saying that althought she promised to withdraw troops from Iraq, she has since learned classified info from the CIA and NSA that makes troop withdrawal an unwise choice at this time and oh, by the way, I just ordered the Air Force to commence "Operation Iranian Freedom."
If Hillary steals the WH, the entire nation will be wearing a blue dress by Monica.

Doug, I share your feelings about Billary. Just because it's a female doesn't mean it's fit to be the next POTUS. I never liked her to begin with, primarily because of the shady deals it was involved in while it was in Arkansas. There's only one effective way to put a decent person in office who is not well-heeled or well-connected and that road would indeed prove to be a perilous one. Remember Romania's dictator? Remember what happened to him and his wife? People were angry when that happened.

Submitted by tropicaltaco on April 2, 2008 - 1:26pm.Why are we going on about Clinton and the rest. This whole election process is a farce and we know it, yet we continue on as if there was nothing we can do.
We don't need a leader, we need true humanitarians, public servants who will execute the will of a well informed citizenry, from the office of the president on down through congress and the house. We need transparency in government not secret meetings behind closed doors.
Woodrow Wilsons words are so true today, "We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated governments in the civilized world. No longer a government by free opinion, no longer a government by conviction and the vote of the majority, but a government by the opinion and duress of a small group of dominant men."
"...a well informed
Submitted by old_curmudgeon on April 2, 2008 - 2:55pm."...a well informed citizenry"
Well, I see the problem now. If we had a "well informed citizenry," the religious right would not have had the sway they did/do, the rightwing, imperialistic, global empire nuts would not have had the influence that they did/do (such as AIPAC and the other neocon advisors)and we would not have ended up with Bush/Cheney for 8 years. If we had a "well informed citizenry," Faux News would not have the ratings they did/do and "pundits" like comedian Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter would not have the influence they did/do.
You see the pattern here? We don't have a "well informed citizenry!!" The time it would take be be a a "well informed citizenry" would take away from American Idol and whatever the current supposedly reality-based pablum is at this time.
And as for "true humanitarians, public servants who will execute the will" of this phantom "well informed citizenry" well, "true humanitarians, public servants who will execute the will" and "politicians" are mutually exclusive.
But, that's just this old curmudgeon's opinion.

Submitted by Pablo on April 2, 2008 - 11:56pm.I truly believe we will not get the politicians you rightfully say we need until we make elections strictly taxpayer funded. NO corporate or even private donations. As is now, those with the most $ win; doesn't sound like democracy to me! Anyway, along with that, we must make the contributions by lobbyists to politicians illegal. These things MUST be done or we will never solve our problems. Once we do these things, people with sincere motives will get into office and then we can start reforming our education system so that children learn critical thinking skills. No doubt one of the first things that will also be done by sincere politicians is the dismanteling of the corporate press so they can't lie to the public with such ease on a massive scale as they do now. In this environment, children will become much more enlightened individuals than the current generations and will one day vote and life will be better for future generations. Only with election reform will the vicious greed/ignorance cycle end!
