Jay, I have a question for you. Are you judging Doug by his own words and his long history of his Rants or are you judging the people who write the news here and the bloggers?

Many of us here are old friends who have suffered through the Clinton years and then the Bush 43 years. I think we all agree that neither Administration was perfect. Does this mean we have to refrain from commenting on this lack of perfection?

For too many years the voters have been "had" by those men we put into office. The best thing we can do for America is to prevent any more of those liars and manipulators. In my opinion it is what we know about the candidates; having seen them in action and what we DON'T know about Obama. You've made some serious claims that he might be dishonest because he has made money. Is that the Liberal in you talking as you hate wealth? or do you have a crime report handy?

How can we come up with a baby until he has been in office 9 months? If he wins and disappoints us, we can remove him in 4 years. But we had better have something better to offer than John McCain............

Jay, I hate to spoil your predictions and assumptions but:

1--Your blog will not be banned. I don't ban comments that are critical. It's your opinion and you are welcome to it.

2--I still own Capitol Hill Blue and run the place but I do so with the help of a lot of great people. We have other columnists whose opinions are their own and I don't edit them. Same with the blogs. My intent in adding additional columnists and blogs was to broaden the base of opinions that are published on CHB. ReaderRant is another valuable part of the site.

3--CHB is not "backing" Barack Obama. We don't back any candidate. Obama's campaign is a phenomenon that is newsworthy and is covered as such.

4--We receive dozens of emails a week suggesting some nefarious activity by each of the candidates for President (along with charges against members of Congress, etc.). We check out the ones that we can and, if there's fire to go along with the smoke, we investigate further. The charges that you raise have been investigated by news organizations with far more resources than us and they found no meat to go with the claim, which are more rumor than fact. When you publish such claims, you should provide links that add substance to your assertions. Otherwise, they come off as just passing on another unsubstantiated web rumor. Obama is fair game just like any of the other candidates -- Republican or Democrat -- and you can be sure that if we find something that is backed by facts and not speculation we will nail him on it just like we would nail any candidate or elected official.

Capitol Hill Blue is a collaborative effort by many people who donate their time and their energies to produce what I feel is a good product. Nobody here makes a salary and we are not a business or a profit-generating operation. Anyone who thinks a web site can pay for itself through ads does not understand the economics of online publishing. I pay most of the expenses for this site out of my own pocket.

As for being drugged, if you call caffeine from coffee and one low-dose aspirin a day as drugs then I guess I'm under the influence.

Some of our friends say I have mellowed since leaving Washington and moving to my mountain hideaway. Perhaps. It is hard to get angry when you walk outside your house in the morning, see the beauty of nature and a fawn walks up and nuzzles your pocket in search of a treat. I'm not as singularly focused on politics now. My first love has always been local journalism, not politics. I cover county government and the courts for the local paper. I photography high school sports and local musicians. I debate property tax rates with other residents at the local coffee shop. On such days, Washington and the games politicians play seem much further away than the 300 miles of actual distance.

You seem to feel that CHB and its contributors have some axe to grind; ie., an anti-Hillary vs. a pro-Obama stance.

Since you seem enamoured with her self-imagined ***** qualifications to be president, maybe you can edify CHB'rs as to why she's "the bomb" for the job and Obama is a dud...?

THE LONDON TIMES, Feb.25 just busted Obama on a land deal he did in 2005 with a Mr Auchi on his mansion in Illinois. Now please, may I have a tip-of-the-hat for my predictions. Do I do my homework?

Mr. Auchi has a conviction for coruption in France. He had his bagman 'Tony' Rezko make a loan to Obama for 3.5M and then Obama bought his house I think 3 days later. Obama says it was "a bone-head land deal" he got himself into. Yeah... sure. The house you live in.

Auchi bought a 10' strip of land for like 125K or something next to Obama's house AND THEN GAVE IT TO HIM. IT WAS WORTH OVER 500K!

Auchi goes on trial for corruption charges March 3 in Chicago. He has a long history of being the European Gotti. It is really a great story, I would invite everyone to read it. Thank You Very Much, I was the first to scoop it here...

About Obama/Clinton and Hawaii? I will include Hillary on this one.

Bill Clinton did a deal called the 'Apology Resolution' giving money to Hawaii in the Millions $$ because we attacked Hawaii and took away their government. Thought Hawaii welcomed us? No, it was a war lasting I believe 3 days. Bill studied Indian Affairs in Ark., where as Governor he played with Indian money for Ark/OK deals learning the ropes.

So Bill, as Prez, with friends like young Attorney Obama and several mafia land guys used this "Apology" deal to steal agricultural land and Gov. money to build condos and a golf course and line their pockets. They bribed everyone in the government of Hawaii. It only took 50K for those crooks.

Young Mr. Obama started his political career with the money, and the blessings from the Clinton's. Bet that still bites them in the a__.

Bill and the Governor of Hawaii hit the first golf ball off the tee, with pictures and press, on this said golf course.

Bet you won't find THAT in the news any time soon.

I meant no harm or insult to Mr. Thompson, or anyone. If Mr. Thompson said the sun would not rise tomorrow, I would leave my sunglasses at home. Imitation being flattery, I was hoping to be in "the spirit of Doug" and Rant to get a rise, so to speak.

Mr. Nemo I have trailed your threads through websearches. Please don't think I'm a stalker. It is just that you have replied to another response I made and I found it a remarkable and smart stance. That led me to ponder that you must have been, or still are a professor, or teacher of higher learning. I particularly enjoy reading your slant to those, well, "somewhat off the wall'. You tell-it-like-it is; I have the greatest respect for you.

I think they are all crap. Hillary, John. Obama, and the Huck and Chuck show too. I liked most of what Ron Paul said, but he got kinda' nutty. Biden is the smartest, Richardson is the best diplomat in centuries. Edwards is smart and has a lot of compassion.

Btw this is the first I've been afforded dirt concerning Obama's house deal along with political background information about the Hawaii Reparations Bill.

Although I'm not doubting the stories, you might care to supply a link or two so folks can jump to the articles. I always try to be careful when I lay out heavy allegations concerning these people by posting links to corroborate my commentary. Sometimes my link posting has gotten me blocked by the site's SPAM filter; ie., Akismet. One link I know that causes it to gag is InformationLiberation.com. I personally like the site because it discloses daily dirt you won't find anywhere else on the www, but it's classed as being a "hate site", whatever that means. I'm sure there are folks that consider CHB a hate site too. All I can say is there's alot to hate in our times... ; )

At least by using web source references it gets the little guy like ourselves off-the-hook if we are mistaken. They can go after the root source posters on the www.

Just remember that you are among friends-in-thought on CHB. I don't believe any of us are hardcore partisans. We shall all have disagreements on occasion, but enemies we are not. : )
