by Maggie Van Ostrand There's a massive amount of bull in politics. Teddy Roosevelt came up with the name "bully pulpit," which meant a great platform from which to "persuasively advocate an agenda," but now we appear to be taking the phrase more literally. Politicians are stumping in neighborhood churches in an effort to gain support. What they are spouting from these pulpits is known as bull, and a far cry from Teddy Roosevelt's definition. Prepare yourselves, there's more coming. Living in this high-tech age, we're in a hurry to find out what will happen before it does happen, and we've come to rely on political polling as facts-in-advance. But polls do not always portray the end result, as has been shown in New Hampshire. Furthermore, some people appear to believe that caucuses and primaries are like the actual election, especially since the media is now referring to the day specific states hold primaries as "Super Tuesday." All we need to recognize that Super Tuesday as as much of a game as the Super Bowl, would be a cheering squad. Oh wait, we already have a cheerleader in the White House. He's the giggling Protestant recently seen in the middle east wearing a yarmulke. No wonder most of Hollywood is a Democrat. In a never-ending quest for truth, here are the facts, actual donations made by celebrities to political candidates. They are not "Super Facts," they are not based on polls, they are from public information sourced by the Federal Election Commission. Jennifer Aniston Hank Azaria Tyra Banks Angela Bassett Halle Berry Valerie Bertinelli Pat Boone Zach Braff Christie Brinkley James L. Brooks Jackson Browne Jerry Bruckheimer Chevy Chase Cher John Cleese George Clooney Harry Connick Jr. Gary Cole Larry David James Denton Danny DeVito Paul Dooley Michael Douglas Fran Drescher Hector Elizondo Linda Evans Morgan Freeman Jamie Foxx Jeff Garlin Louis Gossett Kelsey Grammer Seth Green Jasmine Guy Tom Hanks Hill Harper Dennis Haysbert Edward Helms Don Henley Cheryl Hines Quincy Jones Jeffrey Katzenberg Val Kilmer Norman Lear John Lithgow Seth Macfarlane Amy Madigan Tobey Maguire Branford Marsalis Steve Martin Lorne Michaels Bette Midler Eddie Murphy Kathy Najimy Paul Newman Leonard Nimoy Edward Norton Rosie O'Donnell Sean Penn Rhea Perlman Ellen Pompeo Sidney Poitier Bonnie Raitt Lynn Redgrave Rob Reiner Chris Rock Susan Saint James Adam Sandler Brooke Shields Elisabeth Shue Paul Simon Will Smith Steven Spielberg Darren Star Mary Steenburgen Ben Stein Ben Stiller Barbra Streisand Isaiah Washington Gene Wilder Jerry Weintraub Forest Whitaker Oprah Winfrey Joanne Woodward Renee Zellweger It's nice to know that celebrities can occasionally put their money where their mouth is instead of their foot. ###

Thanks Maggie Van Ostrand
Submitted by Carl Nemo on January 16, 2008 - 7:54pm.Thanks Maggie Van Ostrand for a truly fascinating and informative post...!
My personal disappointment was that Jerry Bruckheimer my all time favorite producer would be enamoured with John McPain...! Evidently Jerry has produced so many action movies surrounding our nations war machine that he's finally become a P.O.W. of the mind, relative to personal discernment and much needed research concerning whom he might back...!
IMO his best all time movie is "Crimson Tide" a 1995 production, starring Gene Hackman and Denzel Washington. I highly recommend the movie and it's one of the best ever showing how our nuclear sub force operates during a DEFCON I to launch sequence.

It proves that stars, directors, and producers may be celebrities, but they surely aren't into indepth research concerning the candidates with whom they are enamoured...no? Life is good for them and most if not all will not have to suffer from Bushco's ongoing nation-destroying decisions. They can always jet off to France or wherever to escape this ever-growing, ugly fascism smothering America...!
