McCain supposedly has quite a temper. His shouting "fuck you" to fellow Republican Senator John Cornyn is troubling. Do we want his finger on the nuclear button? Update: Blogging in Time Magazine, Ana Marie Cox reports McCain's "my gun is bigger than yours" comment about Mitt Romney. Here's the latest from the brain addled McCain:
And now back to the original column. And while on his shouting "fuck you" to a colleague during a meeting Thursday on immigration legislation, I think the press was remiss in not reporting the actual word instead of sugar-coating it with "expletive" you or calling it the f-bomb as Fox News did. The word is fuck. F-u-c-k. When I was thinking about writing a column about McCain's explosive personality as evidenced by the incident with Senator Cornyn, I checked out the use of the actual word "fuck" which I planned to use knowing our editor/publisher's penchant for unvarnished reporting. I searched Google News for McCain Cornyn and found about 36 articles about the incident, none of which spelled out the word fuck. None even spelled out chicken shit, another phrase he used in this incident. Then I searched Google News for McCain Cornyn fuck and only one webpage came up. This was Capitol Hill Blue's article which included the quote from the Washington Post article with the word spelled out:
However, the actual Post article says this:

Only prudery keeps us from printing it on a website read almost exclusively by adults (not that fuck and shit aren't among the first new words a kid learns in the neighborhood). These are, however, words not generally used in polite company, and when one does use them it is strongly suggestive of that person having an anger control problem. John McCain has demonstrated that he loses his temper quite easily, and this incident shows that he can lose it to the extent he'd hurl words that could cost him votes among religious conservatives as well as those who question whether he's too old to be president. Candidates sometimes feign anger for dramatic pruposes, as Rudy Guiliani did at Ron Paul during the most recent debate. But McCain doesn't seem to be acting when he loses it and his face is flushing and aquiver. It is vital we have a president that shows good judgment and maintains an analytic detachment in the most stressful situations. When a problem with anger in a public official or candidate emerges it behooves the press to report it accurately so we can decide whether a candidate has this ability. If you Google News search McCain Cornyn fuck the CHB version is the only website that comes up. It is all by its lonesome as the website that wasn't afraid to offend a few people by publishing the actual profanity said in anger which may indicate a leading candidate for president may be too psychologically unstable to serve. Onset dementia...?!
Submitted by Carl Nemo on May 19, 2007 - 12:51pm.I'm not apologizing for the guy because I don't care for McCain. I simply know too much about him, "warts and all". He doesn't look all that healthy to me and no doubt others. There's a possibility that he has onset dementia with associated brain shrinkage which is quite common in senior citizens. He also seems to have a goofy grin associated with interviews etc. that's not linked to the dialogue, kinda like a baby that's grinning after he crapped in his diaper. People don't realize it but people with lots of age spots also have the same material throughout their brain tissue and interenal organs. It's called lipofuscin and is the result of aging, oxidation of tissues. He needs to hook up with an M.D./N.D. that can get him on a path to remission concerning this aforementioned degneration.
I didn't post this to be funny, but it's a fact. Poor diet, poor physical condition, high stress will really tax someone with onset dementia much less a healthy, fit individual.
Short-temperedness and a general "Mr. Cranky" mode is another indicator. If anything the guy needs to pop a good stress complex of B-vitamins several times a day which will have a calming effect although it will not reverse onset lipofuscin damage to his brain etc., and if possible integrate a daily walk into his schedule. He also needs to make water part of his diet; i.e. drinking alot of water to keep his brain hydrated. My aforementioned advice is actually valid for most if not all of our "aged" leaders. They aren't banging on all cylinders as we witness from their continually bad legislative decisions.

Submitted by T.M. Williams on May 21, 2007 - 11:52am.Carl Nemo is right-on with this analysis, especially about McCain's weird, insincere grin. It pops up in the strangest of places, such as at the presidential debate: "...and I'll chase [bin Laden] to the gates of hell!" Pause. Dirty-diaper grin.
The man is clearly unstable even in his scripted moments. It's understandable for someone who suffered prolonged physical torture as a POW. But I wouldn't trust someone that unstable to drive a bus, never mind to be president.
Seriously, who supports this guy outside of the mainstream media and special interests?

Submitted by Paolo on May 19, 2007 - 1:31pm.I live in Arizona, and have seen many incidents of McCain's famous temper problem. This guy is not only wrong on the issues; he also is psychologically imbalanced.
So let's see: a guy who jokes about bombing Iran is in the White House. Some nitwit terrorist pulls off some stunt, and McCain flies into one of his tantrums.
He's got that nice, big military just sitting there waiting to be used. Could someone this imbalanced resist the temptation to actually do what he jokes about--bombing Iran and killing thousands, if not millions, of innocent civilians in the process?
Bush is a nitwit. McCain is a nitwit with an anger management problem. I cry for our country...

Submitted by Helen Rainier on May 19, 2007 - 1:35pm.I am certainly not a fan of Senator Cornyn, but I do believe, in this case, he made a valid point. McCain is missing votes -- and he is supposed to be representing the people of Arizona as their Senator -- in lieu of campaigning.
My second point is: Is he being docked in his Senatorial duties while he is out campaigning? If he isn't, he should be. He's supposed to be at work on our dime.
It's Not "Loose" . . .
Submitted by April-May on May 19, 2007 - 5:10pm."Loose" means "not tight." The word is "lose" -- and I'd pass it off as a "typo" or casual oversight except the writer here mis-uses "loose" three times in the space of a couple paragraphs.
Errors like that and a writer can lose credibility.
Since we're giving lessons in grammar:
It's "fuckin'" or "fucking" . . . But it's not "fucken" -- not even with a poetic license.
As for McCain. He's a loose cannon. (Loose, not lose.) There's an ironic dynamic going on with respect to his war experiences and his political career. Were he not a "war hero" or at the very least a "prisoneer of war victim," his politics would be cast aside as outlandish, reactionary, and poorly conceived.
Loose cannon. Loses his temper.
And he thinks we can "win" in Iraq, backs Dumbass. That pretty much says it all.

Submitted by kiki on May 21, 2007 - 8:43am.From what I've heard lately from McCain, I think Carl Nemo is spot on. I don't think McCain is mentally stable enough to run the country. He could be completely incapacitated ( or dead ! ) long before 2012.
We can't weather another case like Nancy Reagan and her astrologer running the country. We've had enough brain-dead republicans at the helm-we surely don't need another !!!
The good news is his outburst sunk his Presidential hopes!

I will admit that he would make a wonderful Vice-President in the same mold as "Fuck yourself" Cheney...
Ill-natured, crass, and quite honestly, he appears to be quite the egomaniac - which we definitely don't need! Bush's ego is responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths if you consider all of the Iraqis whom have died - and with McCain at the helm, we would be guaranteed to double or triple that figure.
I did find it interesting that when he "parachuted" into the debate, even though it was his first time there, he had the nerve to state that "he knew more than anyone else about the issue!" There was a time many years ago when I actually thought McCain was a good man, but now, he has revealed himself as just another Bush clone!
I've wanted for years to say that to Cornyn.

Did he hit his head as a result of the car accident and get some kind of brain damage or is he just a Manchurian Canadate?

PTSD....no more, no less. It doesn't make him a bad person, after all he and a hell of a lot of other Vietnam veterans had to endure, it makes him a tough person. However, it makes him a person, whose eggs aren't all hardboiled, one bubble from being plumb, so to speak. Working with Bush seems to bring out the worst in all people, but....working for an imbecile, whom has complete power, is a mental test for all involved, let alone someone who has PTSD.

Then, that weird grin. Like, "hey--isn't that funny? Bombing and killing thousands of innocent civilians? Yuk, yuk."
Of course, the second strangest thing about McCain is that hair-trigger temper, which would be undignified in an 8th grader. In a US Senator who wants to be President, it's downright scary. Just the guy you want with his finger on the nuclear trigger....
