Are we Back in the Crusades Again?

Is Islam responsible for the attack on Mumbai of India? I’m hearing from many that this is just one of thousands of Islamic attacks all over the world.

Is America officially at war with Islam? How do we do this? How do we get a breakdown of Muslims and Islam? The World Almanac in 2004 tells us that there are over 2 billion Muslims in the world and 4 and a half million in North America.

My problem is trying to figure out how to fight this war between the 3 major Gods. Can I trust the American government to tell the truth about 9/11? According to many books, the White House was warned in advance that we had troops left in the Middle East on holy ground and the Muslim/Islam wanted them moved. This information came from a very reliable series of books trying to explain why 9/11.

Are we going to fight over oil, holy land, and the Gods of other nations forever? Is it now established fact that America is a Christian nation? Do we fight the Crusades again and again until Muslim/Islam is dead? Is this our new focus and platform? Is there no possibility of meeting with the leaders of Muslim/Islam? The United Nations can’t even decide what menu to have for lunch.

If America is a Secular nation what would be wrong with removing our troops from the Middle East? I get the impression that America is considered a very Christian nation nearly approaching Evangelical proportions. Would we then be declared the enemy to all other nations?

These are games being played by cowards in all nations. We Americans are pawns in this game that I am tiring of it dailly. We cannot expect President elect Obama to speak up and demand some kind of peace treaty with all of Islam as the Republicans believe him to be a Muslim.

What’s the next move?

There are as many types of

There are as many types of Islam as there are types of Christian churches here in the US. Most of them are simply people who happen to believe in a different deity and who want nothing more than to live their lives in peace and holiness. Some of them, though, subscribe to a brand of Islam that is bent on spreading Islam to the entire world by force and by subjugating or killing all who are not believers in Islam. And in their brand of Islam in particular. This subjugation of non-believers is set forth very clearly in the Koran, where it even specifies what kinds of things these second-class humans have to do, including the taxes they must pay to ensure their very existence.

Yes, there are four plus million Muslims in the US. But that does not mean there are four plus million zealots whose only desire is to bend the neck of every Christian either for subjugation or beheading.

Somewhere around here I have a book that sets forth what the crazies say to the West alongside what they say to their fellow Muslims. The difference is stark. They say to the West that they merely want to co-exist. But they tell their brethren that holy war (jihad) against all non-believers is the only answer. These crazies are incredibly two-faced, and right in the Koran is a passage that says it's perfectly all right to lie in your teeth to further the ways of Islam.

Way off on the left there is a very moderate branch of Islam called Sufism. You might want to look into it to see what these less stringent Muslims are thinking and doing. A good starting point is a recent article in Smithsonian Magazine; can't remember which month.

It is a common error for the

It is a common error for the uninformed to assume that Islam is monolithic - despite the almost-daily reminders of the fundamental difference between the Shia and Sunni branches of Islam. The Sunni-Shia division is as fundamental and on the same order as the division between Catholics and Protestants. Anyone who doubts the profound gulf between the two need only look at the four years of fratricide between the two in Iraq, a religious difference exacerbated by political power struggles between the super-majority and formerly oppressed Shia and the minority and previously-dominant Sunni.

Additionally, there are at least two dozen other sects of Islam - I don't have my old Encyclopedia Britannica available right now that lists all of them and explains their variance - that have generally small differences between and among them.

The current Islamic purists - their "Puritans", if you wish! - are the Wahabbists, or, more correctly, the Salifists, a reformist branch that arose in the middle of the eighteenth century and sought to "purify" what they saw as a corrupted faith that was being divinely punished through the loss of earthly power and dominance. Osama bin Laden is a Wahabbist, and his al Qaeda and Taliban apparatus were/are the means by which he intends the reform of the faith, the expulsion of infidels from Muslim lands, and the reassembly of the Caliphate as it was in the tenth century.

While even the most pacific forms of Islam have no problem with using legal pressure to either suppress other creeds or even persuade their conversion, it is the Wahabbists who truly offer conversion or the sword not only infidels but also to Muslims they regard as being theologically wrong. And it is Wahabbists who give the rest of Islam a bad name, and it is other Muslims - not we "infidels" - who must decide how to put in its place what OBL and his ilk represent.

So we do nothing? We sit

So we do nothing? We sit back and watch "the other Islam" break all the laws of decency and bomb the crap out of innocent people? America has taken its eye off the ball for too many years. Our government is so corrupt we cannot tell the bad guys from the really bad guys.

I was hoping for some strong input on what we do next. Do we simply wait and do nothing until the music stops and the government sits waiting for another strike?

Our Gods teach us to hate. I want that to stop. If this describes human nature it is time to reprogram the next generation or clean up this generation of lazy and stupid leaders.

Oh come on. Most of us

Oh come on. Most of us subscribe to the idea that we have only one G-d, not, like the old Romans, a whole houseful of gods.

And G-ds don't teach people to hate. The religious leaders are responsible for that. THEY preach and teach hatred and intolerance, not the gods.

So lay the blame where it belongs please.

And as to whether America is at war with Islam, well, I don't think so despite the dislike of Obama because people mistakenly think he is a muslim. I think Christianity is at war with Islam. Damn right it is the Crusades resurrected. These preachers on both sides cannot stand competition and so they try to wind up their followers and talk them into killing the infidel, whether that infidel be a christian, a moslem, a Jew, a Hindi, or a Buddhist. Different is NOT acceptable to these narrow minds and their solution is a pogrom, a crusade, an inquisition or a jihad.

I say let's fire all the ministers of every denomination, ban proselytizing, and move into the concept of brotherly love. I never, in all my travels around the world, failed to get along with someone whom I met along the way, whether they were communists on a train in Bulgaria during the hot days of the Cold War, or whether they were Iraqis during the height of the tensions with Israel. We are all people, stuck together on this little sphere floating in space and dammit, there is only so much room here, so we had better learn to get along with each other, or we will die not trying.
