No more government sponsored commercials

Why is the government in the business of marketing? I just saw a commercial from the Interior Department. This is ridiculous considering the financial position we find ourselves in.

OK, I know that someone is going to say that TV donates time to non-profit commercials.

But even if the TV time for the commercial is free (which I seriously doubt), it still costs taxpayer dollars to produce the commercial.

And the commercial is nothing but government propaganda.

So to all the politicians out there, I say, lets' start a simple campaign to halt all government commercials. If there is information we need to know about, put it on your website(s).

But stop wasting taxpayers money on government sponsored propaganda in the guise of a public service announcement. We can't afford it any longer and it's one area we can, for the most part, afford to eliminate it.

All of television is propaganda - government or corporate, it's all the same.

The Center for Media Democracy and Free Press just did a study showing widespread propaganda being reported as news.

The POINT is that the taxpayers don't need to be paying for gov't produced advertisements ESPECIALLY considering the fiscal conditions we are currently experiencing.

This is one area that needs to STOP, right away!
