There's a worldwide sigh of relief, that a seemingly sane human being surfaced,capable,and willing, to Lead this country out of a morass of sins bestowed upon the Earth by a single political party.
Morning Joe Scarborough was furious that someone said there was a choice in this election between Hope, or Fear..he just couldn't fathom what that meant. How could anyone in his position not have been squirming with discomfort at the shredding of the Constitution,the use of torture, and the plundering of America for eight years?It has been a good ride for Rich Stupid People.
When Florida 2000 was going down, we, Democrats,got a taste of powerlessness, of oppression, of not having anyone on our side with influence.I thought,people of color are going to have to show us how to fight this, because most white people don't even know what's happening!And indeed, it was Cynthia McKinney,John Conyers, Maxine Waters,Stephanie Tubb Jones, and the rest of the Congressional Black Caucus that did the most to support resistance of any kind.
We saw the rest of the Congress and the Press, buckle to the will of mad dog Republicans, and we whispered to each other in dissent.I remember William Pitt, (Truthout),first speaking out loud,and Michael Moore, and then more and more people began speaking out, and our insurgency was underway. It's been a long eight years of disappointments and struggle and injustice, and yeah Joe, Fear.
I don't think I really valued Barack Obama's valuable Community Organizing skills,discipline, determination, innate decency, until the Convention in August, which is when I really dared to begin to Hope. The win on Tuesday was thrilling, and like a prisoner being let out the jail house door, I'm still faintly worried that I'm going to get shot in the back.
Obama, has already, fulfilled one of his biggest promises: He HAS changed this country, and he HAS changed the World.

I watch Morning Joe too and

I watch Morning Joe too and the show often infuriates me, mostly Scarborough and Buchanan, but recently Mika is pushing my buttons with her defense of Sarah Palin.

Does she really think Palin is smart?

Now it comes out that Obama did quite consciously and successfully use the Saul Alinksy model of community organizing. But how could he not. Alinsky is considered the father of community organizing. Good that didn't come out in the campaign considering the title of his book is "Rules for Radicals".

Here's an excerpt:

"There's another reason for working inside the system. Dostoevski said that taking a new step is what people fear most. Any revolutionary change must be preceded by a passive, affirmative, non-challenging attitude toward change among the mass of our people. They must feel so frustrated, so defeated, so lost, so futureless in the prevailing system that they are willing to let go of the past and change the future. This acceptance is the reformation essential to any revolution. To bring on this reformation requires that the organizer work inside the system, among not only the middle class but the 40 per cent of American families - more than seventy million people - whose income range from $5,000 to $10,000 a year [in 1971]. They cannot be dismissed by labeling them blue collar or hard hat. They will not continue to be relatively passive and slightly challenging. If we fail to communicate with them, if we don't encourage them to form alliances with us, they will move to the right. Maybe they will anyway, but let's not let it happen by default."

What Obama had to be careful about was putting too much emphasis on his experience as a community organizer. It did give rise to one of the best bumper stickers though: "Jesus was a community organizer".

The ratings for “Morning Joe” will continue to drop and I imagine the show eventually will be dropped as well. Mr. Scarboroughs bitterness will sink that morning show. Mikas Sarah Palin worship right down to the hairdo is painful to watch. The Republican Party is in deed in grave shape if all they have is Palin.
The country rejected the extreme right by their votes.

I get up to deliver a newspaper on a rural route in Montana. If the papers are late,(after 4 AM), I catch the first moments of Morning Joe.I would never be able to endure the entire show.Joe reminds me of an Archie Comics character, with Archie Bunker lines.

I often attempt to watch Morning Joe but usually find myself looking for my shoe to throw at the TV since it is usually infuriating. When I find the shoe, I walk the dog since the TV isn't mine (har,har).
